Anyone can share your recent experience in doing lasik during these MCO/CMCO periods? Easy for appointments etc?

Also - generally... anyone felt any pain/uncomfortable sensation while doing the surgery?

did relex in KPJ tawakal last Wednesday. Still recovering and on meds. Vision around 60%. My power was -5 and -2.5 astig. Cant wait to get off meds within few days, as side effects of these meds are blurred vision. I dont mind to wear glasses actually, now I can get any shape I like, compared to previously, I was limited to rectangle frame and bulky lens.

my friend recently did relex smile at sunway eye centre which is a new technology that corrects vision like lasik as she was told. the operation has no pain or discomfort, it was quick. they explain a lot and transparent with the procedure and risks involved. her vision is way much better the next day. since it's like covid time now, she just make appointment and don't have to wait long before starting the check and those procedures leading up to the operation. she's pretty happy with her new vision now. not really sure what is the difference between lasik and smile but I guess you can read up what they have in their website difference between smile and lasikrelex smile vs lasik

not sure if the offer that my friend got still valid but I guess you can check their facebook to see if they got promo going on.

wah.. how is your vision?

after 8 weeks, my vision is improved to 80%. Dryness is occasional, especially at nights around 2-3 days per week so I don't bother to use the artificial tears at all, only when needed. Vision is also at its worse in nighttime. I work in a dusty environment so sometimes my eyes turned red. But I still could not stand harsh daylight, so rayban sunglasses will do for now.

Did lasik assessment at isec today. Even assessment was pricey.
End of the day, was recommended to do ICL. And trust me, it's expensive what they quote me. Told them I'll decide later.

Thought of writing this for sharing. Its been exactly 48 hours since my reflex smile was done.

Where: kpj center for sight
Who: Dr Helen
How much: 9k for both eyes excluding assessment cost of 200. Promotion price.

How it was done:
Final thorough check on cornea thickness, power etc.
Assistant will explain the after procedure care for 3red time.
Doc explain the procedure..then here it goes.

Change into operation robe, mask still on.
Few drops of anesthesia,
Nurse use some white soap kind of bubble to wash my upper face.
Second wash of eye lashes using diff kind of liquid.
Thirdly use yellow medicine to sanitize entire eye brow to eye lashes.
Doctor check on my eye again with a scope..now it is time to get into OT.

Inside OT, doctor will test my eye if it is numb enough. Then add in few more drops until im comfortable.
Once my eye lids r numb, doctor put a clamp to keep me from blinking.
Rinse my eye ball next, then doc uses a tiny gauze swab to clean my eyeball and surrounding. During the swab doctor will test if my eyeball is numb. Once ready doctor did a final marking on eyeball to ensure it is 100% accurate.
Drop another drop to clean my eyeball final time..
Throughout the prep work i had to adjust my head to the right position to hold still..a bit nervous but okay.
Now herecomes the laser..basically the laser machine came to my eye, imagine sucking a ping pong using your vacuum. Yeah..

The process is pretty much chasing a green dot. Can c it moved in circular motion for 15 seconds, and my vision turns towards white blur through the 15 sec. Just like in the movies, as u step into the white tunnel kind of feel.

Yeah i got nervous, thought i went blind. Doctor explained its just bubbles in cornea..

Moving and at from machine, doctor made a small incision and insert a small needle (looks like it) to separate the bubbly piece from my eye. The scrape was a little uncomfortable, a little pain (very tiny) on left eye, then when doctor pull it out it feels like korek hiding like when your nose shit is tightly attached to nose hair n u still pull it anyway.

Then it is final wash and im done. Was a little blur cz i was dead nervous throughout.. But i can walk fine.

Nx post will share about my recovery in first 24 hours.

First 4 hours post procedure:
Dead tired. Literally more tiring than having sex multiple times or not sleeping for 2 nights.
Dry eyes, tingling feeling in the eyelids like there's sand in it.
Slept for 6 hours after lunch, this is about 7 hours after procedure done. Woke up feeling much better, still hazy and blurry but i feel 70% recovered in vision.

Stayed away from wind and screen and sunlight.

Slept through the night, woke up to much much better vision..very little mist/blur, no more dry eye or any uncomfortable feeling at all. By noon i can watch tv, play GTA.. Basically back to normal except exercise and heavy lifting.

48 hours post procedure:
Significantly better vision.. Astigmatism is close to none except when eyes r teary or dry.
That feeling of liberty is just..beyond words can describe. No problem to walk under bright sunlight at noon, no dry eyes, no tiredness.

Dr Helen did a great job.. My wife is going for her turn soon !

Is there a best age to do Lasik? I heard that someone's who's still young is not recommended to do Lasik yet. Is that correct?

its best to wait till your eye refractive error stabilized for 2 years before proceed for refractive surgery.
