I can see very clear.
My eyes easily getting tired and dry eye under sunlight and computer.
Better wearing sunglasses to make eye comfortable and not so tiring.
Enough sleeping and drink more water is very important for eye.
Relying on eye drops on and off, not so frequent.
I can go diving and sport without problem.

I just did Relex Smile at Sunway Eye Centre two weeks ago with Dr Umi, I made the right decision I would say. I was contemplating to do at Optimax or Sunway, I did at Sunway Eye Centre at last because of the price. It was RM 5k per eye during their CNY promotion, including my meds and follow ups. The original price was Rm12k for both eyes icon_rolleyes.gif

My power on Right eye before the surgery was -8.50 for short-sightedness and -7.50 on Left eye with some mild astigmatism. I was a hardcore contact lens wearer for the past 15 years because it is so inconvenient wearing a thick pair of glasses for gym and dancing all.

I didn't know Sunway offers Lasik too until I came across their advert on FREE lasik screening. LOL. I was like can give a try and see if I'm suitable for Lasik or not. During the free screening, they did some tests and told me more about the laser vision correction they offer. They have customised FemtoLASIK and also SMILE. I had a thorough check up like the power checking, lots of scans and also had my eyes checked by my surgeon Dr Umi for only a total of RM200. She was very friendly and patient in answering all my doubts. I went ahead with SMILE at last cause it reduces the dryness and no flap complications all.

I did my surgery the next day after my check up, I think I only spent around 15minutes lying on the surgery bed if I'm not mistaken, it was real quick and life changing...
My vision was hazy right after the surgery but I was able to walk around and read my texts all.

When I woke up the next morning, OMG, rclxm9.gif I can see so much better like after so many years...without searching for my glasses when I opened my eyes. My optometrist told me I could read the 6/9 line when I went for my first day follow up.

I went for my one week follow up last week and I could read the 6/6 line already, I was so happy! I find my vision is clearing up like getting sharper day by day and I do find the lights a bit glaring at night though which I think it is normal? cause they did tell me that before the surgery.

So just want to share with you all my experience cause I'm real glad I made the right choice! I hope my vision can maintain this way for longggg thumbup.gif

I’m still contemplating to perform from which centre. I already perform the check up with Optimax Shah Alam under Dr Zainora and all good as per checking and offered for 3 types of lasik - relex smile/femto/prk dependa on budget. Dr Zainora will perform operation on Thursday only at Optimax TTDI which definitely not so far away but I’m searching around google not much review. Perhaps any LYN user can comment on that as I have 2 option currently under Prof Muhaya or Dr Zainora as both also experience doctor with Lasik.

I've done mine at Optimax TTDI. I wrote about it here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/276129/+3100#

I'm told that the difference between Relex and Femto isn't that much (Relex is supposedly "better" because they don't create corneal flaps, but also more expensive lah), but I really don't like PRK because it's more involved. The recovery period is longer, plus you have to wear contacts for about five days.

I was told the blurriness can last for months sad.gif This is why I didn't choose R.ex even though it's way cheaper than Relex Smile...

A friend of mine did it at Advance Vision Damansara and had good results. So, I called Advance Vision Damansara for initial check appointment.
28/2/2020 9am arrived at Advance Vision and start checking. They used 5 machines if I'm not mistaken. Then the consultant told that I'm eligible for surgery. This checkup is FOC. Since doctor is available, I said I want to meet doctor right away. They put 3 types of eye drops which caused my vision to be blurred and very sensitive to light. Was hard for me to drive back at noon on a very sunny day. Doctor consultation costs RM100. Doctor Linda was very professional. Checked my retina and all. She gave me the green light for standard Trans PRK (my power right -250, left -400). Paid RM400 (deposit) and booked my surgery on 6/3/2020. Must come on 4/3/2020 for pre surgery checking. Everything done by 12.00pm.

Total costs will be RM2988 (deposit+surgery+post op check up up to 6months) +RM100(doctor consultation). Medicine not included, will be around RM100.

Will update later.

You can do cataract surgery if required. Best to keep your original corneal curvatures record or pre lasik report.

Is it ok to use the bottled version instead of the single-vial version of artificial tears 1 year post-lasik? understand that the difference is the preservative
