the clinical years are the most important, but the most difficult to manage, as the majority of med schools do not have access to high quality hospitals with broad range of services............aimst students attached to sungei petani and adjacent hospitals will lack exposure in areas where service does not exist..........eg cardiothoracic surgery, neurorehabilitation, rheumatology etc.......

that is why many countries (uk and spore included) will only recognise 'twinning' medical degrees if the clinical years are done in the country awarding the degree.........ie pmc irish degrees are not recognised......

I'm starting my foundation next week and im wondering once i'm done with the foundation and since the medical program at Aimst isn't so good already, is it possible that i can do my medical degree elsewhere with the foundation at aimst?

If i go orientation, must i start to pay the full course fee already?

Cause im not sure whether want to join or not, but i want to go and at least try the orientation.

Do i need to pay the semester fee if i go orientation, or only if i attend from the day the lectures start?

To be offered a place in a programme anywhere in any college/university, you will be required to pay the fees at least for the first semester. There no such thing as joining a 'discovery' orientation.

Yeah, but i presume MMMC is much better than AIMST. Many of our good lecturers are heading there. Also, although we're no longer that good but i believe if compared to russian/indon students, our knowledge is still much better.

Actually how do you all judge that the quality of the medical school is deteriorating ? Just wanna know the details on what happened to AIMST , as in what's lacking compared to last time or other university. Basically many go for AIMST ; one of the reason is being affortable.

So I think it's pretty hard for students who once aimed to go AIMST ; to divert to other options.

If AIMST is lacking in quality ; Any seniors here could give some advise to the juniors on how they should cope with it ? Be it self-studying and etc ?

for most people who have the opportunity to experience just 1 med school, you will not know........you cannot miss what you never had........

for people who are studying in renowned schools with a long history and a record of excellence, the background will tell you the calibre......

for the others with negative repute, well, people still go, in spite of bad reputation, on cost, or entrance opportunity reasons......ie, no money or cannot get into good med school.......russia will be an example........

people who experienced a deterioration within their study period will know......and this is what csrulez experienced......

it's ironical that people get into med school, then have to take care of themselves, self study etc.....and then graduate and during housemanship, realised they have been poorly taught, and have to relearn many new things all over again......like redoing med school in housemanship.........

learning is not difficult.......what is more difficult is UNLEARNING........if you have learn wrong things, it is difficult to undo..........

This I agree..
I picked up some bad habits in my older education and now am slightly suffering not to repeat those mistakes..
It takes time and hardwork but I guess, eventually, it will be ok~

formal attire is like the baju kerja one.. rules for guys attire are tight compared to girls..and no, you can't wear jeans for the lecture & classes (although some of my batchmates do wear jeans). Other than 8am - 5pm, you can wear shirts..but you can't wear short pants above the knees though. Nvm, later you'll not feel bounded to the rules though

Repeat foundation, or retake pre-u in other uni/college. you should've studied at the first place, you know your batch is competitive isn't it.
