I just heard from my friend that they say,AIMST will not be allowed to take in new MBBS students in coming intake due to AIMST take in the ex-UNAND students without the permission from MMC and MOHE. Is it true? I am not really believe and want to know the real fact from AIMST medical students here.

Nope, it is not true. But AIMST has been given a deadline by MMC/MQA till June where if they do not fill up the vacancies of lecturers, they will be halted from taking in 200 students for the next intake. The max of students they could take in is only 60. However, our dean has told that many new lecturers will be coming by June.
Also, met up with a Manipal elective student in the hospital. And surprisingly he was saying our institution and hospital is much better than them! He was saying patients here are more coorperative, and consultants are able to show us more good cases than Melaka GH. Well. |

csrulez, do you mean for this year's mbbs new intake will be limited to only 60 seats? if that so, that means even more competition to get into bds and pharmacy?

I said IF they do not fill up the vacancies, but i believe that AIMST would at least do something as an extra 140 students is a large sum of money.
They will be filling up the vacancies by June and they will take in the 200 students. |

I think I will enroll to its foundation this July.
Any suggestions? Any MBBS students here?Could you tell me among your batchmates, how many of them are foundation students? Once you met the requirements,is it guaranteed to secure a seat in MBBS? |

Well, my dad and mum and my siblings work in Malacca GH and I can assure you, there are quite a number of interesting cases there.. Been hanging out there for quite some time since I was a kid, even admitted once or twice.. Patients here are quite eccentric though.. You can see more cases, including some pretty dumb and lame ones~" QUOTE(kirii @ May 1 2010, 06:44 PM) I think I will enroll to its foundation this July. Got many MBBS students here..Any suggestions? I think, almost 50% of MBBS program's student are taken from their foundation students~" And there is no such thing called securing a SEAT~ You COMPETE for a SEAT~" |

Hi,
May I know how's AIMST current situation are right now? Where did the prev lects go? Did they quit? And do AIMST accept you based on your results alone? And why do AIMST do not require you to go for an interview like other med unis? Can someone please enlighten me on these? Thanks so much! |

you will have shorter holidays, shorter study break (earlier batch have 1week study break, July batch will have 3 days of study break, but plus the weekends, it will be 5 days then) and you have shorter time for the syllabus. But don't worry, just sacrifice & put effort k
p/s : not sure if it's still the same though, maybe they change the schedule, I don't know |
