Guys, is it worth to buy Test drive car.

Currently got one proton edar sa offer me CFE preve for discount RM10k from current preve cfe price. But the interest consider as 3.5% since already 6 months

Actually its my first time drive preve, very good..but when goes speed at highway around 110km +++ above, I feel a bit shaky holding the steering, maybe need rebalancing, since forte also issued this.

So, it is worth or not buying test drive car??

IMO- no. People abuse test drive car, unless you are ok with that.

I still remember vividly when I was test driving an Inspira the SA told me...

"Cuba masuk lubang tu, boleh test absorber sedap ke tak".

For me I still prefer new unit instead as have RM6k discount...
Test drive unit could raped by a lot of people and worst may have some hidden damages caused during test drive which fixed by proton....

My preve no such shaking issues while cruise till 100-110km/h, hence no funny sound around my interior too... My car still below 500km odo mileage anyway... Getting to love my preve even though have some minor minor problems, but all problem solved by myself without visit SC for warranty claim it is due to the front hood's sensor issue as meter will show "opened" sometime will going thru uneven road surface as sensor no able to contact hood 100%, maybe just contact 3-5%, i simply add a small pad on the hood and solve the problem...

For those non-DIYer (car noob), definitely they will visit SC for every small problem as they don't know how to solve and complain kau kau for each minor problems and say Proton suck, so best for them is go for oversea car for free hassles... if your are DIY king, go for preve, save rm20k+ for your comforts...

Just spend some money buying tools and ingredients to solve the minor issues. Knowing the SC quality service, sometimes it is better to solve by ourselves.

What do you think the price of a Proton Preve <1 month is gonna be?

I'm looking to sell my Preve CFE white.

Reason being : my company is providing me with a car and fuel.

Why not ask the company to give you the car and fuel allowance? Then you can keep your Preve.

Better to have your own car even if company provide you one. Reason is if something happen like kena retrench or have to resign due to better offer at least you got a car on standby to use immediately.

as lkyoong said, i guess u can request your company pay for your car monthly installment, petrol and maintenance, so your company doesn't required to own a company car, hence your company can save some money too as required to pay some tax to government by owning company car... can ask your financial team to do the calculation...

hence government will tax u RM70 monthly (my company policy) if u r drive company car...

If you tended to resign, your company can straight immediately by suspend ur car monthly benefits and you can continue drive ur car to your ur new company...

It is common but check the frequency. Sometime's it's because the unit recognize a channel but with a wrong number. Like in Klang Valley the Fly.Fm is 95.8 but the other day found out tat my unit is playing fly.fm for Seremban eventhough i'm in teh middle of KL (in front Sogo!)

IMHO It's a big no. All those discounts may one day end u up going to SC every week or worse, everyday..

Is changing of CD player void warranty? How about speaker?
Read tat turbo version will create a lot of noise...so thk of get the normal versions of preve.. So I m thkg of change the CD player my own, is it ok ? Concern on warranty.

Void warranty I refer to warranty for car, is not relevant is it? Thought if change speaker or wat involve cut wyre and void warranty from proton for car.
Regarding the noise, dunno where I read bout noise from turbo engine. Is it true?

Yeah the turbo on the CFE can be heard but it is not that loud. The sound like more like an audible purring.

Maybe getting some additional sound proofing can cut down the sound when you are driving but honestly it is not that loud to begin with.

I just switch on the radio or CD. Not an issue really.
