I must say Preve Exec is only suitable for drivers who prefer comfortable and relaxing drive. You want more performance? Buy CFE variant. Nuff said.

sigh.

early morning SA said car is registering, can pick-up today or tomorrow.
of course i picked today.

went and run through checklist:
- left low beam headlight bulb is burnt - replaced on the spot.
- watermarks on the bonnet - hmmm....

the rest seems fine, then test drive:
- traction control warning (indicator and chime) came up at low speeds - wtf??
- restart then drive, warning came up again.
- SA went check tyre pressure - same thing

so told them I'm not taking delivery, they'll send it to COE on Monday.

sigh.

So have u gotten yours yet?anyway proton cars are like that...qc not so good but in exchange u get a good handling car for this price range.so if u are someone who enjoys driving then the choice is obvious.that's why i am still using a proton till now..just that there will be minor hiccups here and there
*
when all in order, shall get it this Thursday.
my current Persona, the 1st batch, some hiccups as you said. change 2 times of front disc during warranty period. aircond knobs, change once. rear left door rubber change once. car rattle at RPM2800. under warranty that time, just complain and ask for change. time consuming.

QUOTE(Gigabit @ Apr 16 2013, 08:50 AM)
It is your choice, you want excellent car driving experience, ride and handling...take proton

You want problem and issue free car, get something else...best get the Completely Build Up (CBU) type car and not Completely Knocked Down (CKD) type car because our Malaysian car assemby workers have no passion in their work and our vendor give crappy parts.
*
true. that is our mindset problem. no pride for works.
even happen in MB factory here. paint spraying, hand too short and cant reach. what they do?? jump a bit.

got my Exec CVT today late afternoon.
everything is fine. clocked 38km once i am in there with SA to check interior.
noise. yes, the humming sound if accelerating fast. on and off can hear the fan noise? is that?
drive as usual pace is nice. acceleration is good. one needs to have good control in fuel paddle should be fine.

if u do not wear seatblet at PASSENGER side, the seatbelt indicator will blink and there is beeping sound.#

Hello everyone,

my car rear boot lamp burned, I tried to search around and even Proton service center also don't have the replacement for it.

If you guys have any idea where to get it. please do let me know.
the bulb is smaller than the normal wan. My location is in Kepong.

thank you
*
go look for LED T10 size. get the short version as the boot lamp is small.

Okay. After driving my Preve for about half a year. I can conclude that my car have alot of problems. Just now when i was caught in the traffic jam in the city, i can feel my car jerking. This happen for the very 1st time and i just did my 5k service less than a month ago.
All the rattling sound, my car boot water leaking.
Haizzzz
*
6 months running 5k km. hmm.....
car jerking is due to the CVT using wet clutch, quite normal at 10-20km/h, stop, move.
rattling and water leak, SC can solve. design problem and not install properly.

QUOTE(wongth7 @ Aug 22 2013, 11:48 PM)
anyone knows what is the size of the stock speaker in preve?..any aftermarket speakers that can directly replace the stock speakers without need to to drill hole etc..easy to DIY type?
*
6.5" with 3 screws. other 6.5" speakers are 4 screws. go figure whether need to drill or not.
or go get self drilling screws. no need pre-drill.

aiyo..any branded 3 screws type ah?..what bout the cable socket?..need to modify also?
*
the origin socket is not compatible to other's speaker. just cut and use the cable comes together with new speakers.
maybe you just go shop new speakers, amp and send to accessories shop for installation. the installation fee is not much.
stock speakers are made of paper. aftermarket speakers cannot fully perform without amp.

Just got my Preve Turbo today. Chassis number is 38xxx.

So far everything looks good. Minor scratches which i highlighted to the SA so they will call me to touch it up.

Also anyone know the best SC to send for the 1k service in JB? I buy and use my own fully synthetic engine oil.

The AutoBacs shop near Tebrau City just open and they offer good prices for engine oil.

Thinking of getting hand wax done on the car as well.
*
if you bring own lubricant for service, anything warranty claim on the engine will not be entertain.

So have to use the SC engine oil.

Any idea what brand of oil they typically use if i request for FS oil?

Also manual says need to use 10W-30 or better, can use 5W-30? Or need to use 5W-40
*
Proton service centres, either using Petronas or Shell.
if you travel frequent, use fully synthetic. save labour charge in the long run.
if you just clocking 5k km around 3 months, may just use semi syn.
5W-40 slightly better.

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Aug 24 2013, 06:59 AM)
As I work in O&G field, I have some accesses to purchase engine oil (any brand, any spec) at staff price tongue.gif Usually I ask what oil will be used if I send for service, and some SC do allow me to bring my own.
*
yes, they still allow now. something wrong with your engine, the time you want to warranty claim. just prepare to shout here and there.
working in O&G field, salary per month is like what?? 8k-15k? is it worth to challenge them next time?

amount save for every oil change (10k km);
15 times X RM80 (assume the max) = RM1,200
RM1200 spanning over the 5 years, is it worth?

As an O&G profession background, what's your personal oil grade for Preve CFE here in Malaysia? brows.gif
*
i am not driving CFE. not sure.
as far as i know, all "lebih kurang saje".
Malaysia dont have extreme weather or big gap of daily temperature. average 30 celcius throughout the day and night.

QUOTE(skindred @ Aug 26 2013, 06:49 PM)
can you guys play MP3 CD on your preve stock radio? i burned a MP3 CD and i can't play it on my radio. it says "CD ERROR".

i thought this stock player can play MP3?? or only MP3 from other device??
*
mp3 through USB only?
you need to recheck with the instruction manual.
