I hope they will sort the dash rattling probs with vendor cause the dash is already fit togther by vendor, the assembly line just fit the whole dash to its mounting. But still prtn is responsible to cater the problem cause customer already did complaint at service centre n it suppose to be inside the computer systems@some service centre dont report it to hq....i wonder...

Are newer units also rattling or this only for early adopter?

some question :

if preve have ....
17inch alloy rims
Reverse camera
front & real sensor parking sensor
Leather seat
6 air bag
how much you all think the price is reasonable to buy ? brows.gif  brows.gif
*
Between 7-10k on top of CFE if it is based on the CFE engine. Of course, if it is cheaper/same price- it is always better laugh.gif I'm guessing a price of RM 79,999.00. I don't think it will overtake inspira's price.

Front parking sensor. No other car in that price range have front and rear sensor right if not mistaken. Can use this for advert when promoting preve compare to a merc W211.
17" rims should look nice on the car with big wheel arches.

You work in Proton? brows.gif brows.gif
Can you tell how long it is? in mm or that is still a secret? Cannot get preve as it exceed 4500mm parking space sweat.gif
Also, how much weight shed off normal preve? If substantial I'm guessing this one is the Preve to go...unless you need that huge boot space.

When can order and when release date thumbup.gif

then later Preve FLX

then Preve FLX+

Oh, I thought hatchback. I don't think will break the RM80k barrier. Its a psychology barrier.

*
If FL- I think this is to address feedback by consumers when they bought original preve. Original saga was so-so. The saga now is actually quite value for money. A lot of car.

QUOTE(diadokmai @ Jun 12 2013, 08:13 PM)
regarding to steering. im liking tight one rather than the loose one.  laugh.gif
but indeed, this make a bit difficult to my wife to drive it..since my wife left arms is a terminator cap ayam one.got besi in there (accident time study dulu) ..last time drive gen2 need me to help her to tarik the handbrake..
and same to preve the handbrake tight/heavy one too

any way to lighten the handbrake without affecting the brake?
*
Hydraulic steering are better than most EPS. You "feel" whats on the road. EPS-numb. Sure, software can make it tighter/jitter more, but then the moment you change modes, the weight of the steering becomes different. IF you are a precision based driver, this is annoying since you cannot judge how much to turn. I don't think EPS is in rally yet.

I don't think this is possible. The brake is a mechanical part in Preve. Only suggestion I think change car with foot handbrake or electric handbrake where you just press button. I think peugeot's have some models. Honda Civic also electric handbrake?

BTW, where is this Preve Hatchback. Someone said early June, now mid June. Makes little sense after raya though.

guys. preve is a heavy car. heavier than civic and corolla. (im comparing within the same class)

do you have any idea on how to reduce it's weight? reducing weight will help in saving fuel and faster launch. i did remap the ecu and feel better, however still im thinking of reducing it's weight.

is it possible? what can be done?
*
Lighter alloy/wheels. Remove non-car related stuff from the car like carrier bag.

Other than that, must start remove stuff. Spare wheel. Spoiler accessory. If want to remove more weight must be prepared to go rally style with seats, ICE, airbag, carpets etc laugh.gif

Or maybe the preve hatchback is lighter?

QUOTE(mat79 @ Jun 25 2013, 01:53 PM)
many reasons preve is heavy, due to engine construction, cast iron vs alluminium, suspension setup, power steering mechanism, hydraulic vs electric, multilink vs lighter torsion beam,n homogolation for unece requirement.

due to strict homogolation, its bcome heavier. eg,honda civic euro hatch 1.8,is heavier than honda civic asia or us version 2.0, even generally speaking, hatch suppose to be lighter than sedan sibling. same case as sedan elantra vs hatch i30.

many methods have been done to reduce its weight, but of course they r many other methods also can be used, but it incurr cost that increase the whole cost of developing preve n total cost of the car unless prtn has economy of scales rite now.

bcm, hydroforming subframe, hpf, using cvt r ways used to reduce its weight.

but heard that upcoming p230a n latter will use nfe using eps module.

Campro engine is EOL?

Do you know how much lighter is the hatchback preve over the sedan rolleyes.gif

I thought Civic is not sporty car also?

Those rims were issued by Proton. I'm guessing warranty with them. biggrin.gif

Well... I guess the fuel consumption is going to be bad... doh.gif

Proton say the rims are same weight with stock wheels. Someone already ask at fb page. Both at 9 kg.

Previous gen I agree. Not this gen. In US they already have the new facelift version (after 1 year launch) with better interior to combat dwindling sales. In Malaysia, people are still suckers that they can afford to sell the worse version.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Civic_%...del_year_update

Been in both civics. The previous gen has better quality material.

QUOTE(mat79 @ Jul 19 2013, 10:08 PM)
pass airbags indicator n pass seatbelt indicator are part of eu regulations n homogolation where it supposed to be visible to the passenger. when they design the centre cnsole, they not only need to conform with regulations,n also to givn much comfort n safety to the occupants.

it isnt easy to please everyone. the intention is that to make it easy to the pass to unlock the car if the driver is away,

kids are supposed to be seated at rear seat whereby childlock is provide for each rear door.

prtn invest so much on bcm so that they can provide auto lock during driving n auto unlock during collision. whereby many other cars  in malaysia already ditch the function due to eu regulation, bcoz they dont have similar function as bcm.

this project started since exora,n sadly many dont appreciate it much compare to what underthe hood.

bcm serve as active safety features that normally on highend car. so,its rare to any segment that prtn enter.

yup, since it isnt visual, only come handy n useful during emergency,it is easier to be ignore.

as in many comments i read in any forum, rarely bcm is being highlighted,n even some really proud their prestige car dont have pass airbags indicator,n cursing prtn put in airbag indicator which they cnfius it as airbag switch or button, without knowing a highend car especially sold in europe has similar indicator. or maybe they never been in one be4.

prtn still left behind, still need to polish their qualities, but they r moving forward, 1st attempt to produce car that can be said highly specced in its segmen n price,it has flaws,it has weakness, but it prove that prtn is willing to provide better car for malaysian, according to global homogolations. that is preve

if prtn isnt willing to improve, just focus on malaysian market or asean market homogolation is just enough, then it will be another big brother of saga. 2 airbags is just enough, 4 speeder is what they need n the list go on.

even many think nap is in favour of prtn, but it also do a lot of damage by restricting prtn from outsourced cheaper n more reliable part, rather than forcing them to use local parts n vendors.

what they trying to protect is the industry itself, vendors n tech transfer n etc, n prtn is one of mechanism to uphold the industry or as catalyst.

but cntinue to comments so they prtn will know their strength n weakness. so that they keep improving themselves. tq

Question: What is bcm? Acronym or short form of something?

mat79: Tell proton to use this bcm/auto lock feature as advert material. Put there other car makers-some more expensive don't have this feature. If don't tell-people don't know. No one is going to read through the manual to find something special about their car. If other car makers can highlight even tinniest bit of advantage, why proton can't do the same. If you didn't tell me, I did not know about this autolock feature.

So preve got autolock doors?

Actually Proton is more at the mercy of the vendors-from what you are saying mat79. People say vendors = crony. Cannot dump them for products made elsewhere. Problem is, if substandard materials go into car, car breaks down or faulty-QC problems owner complain, then Proton loose face. Either vendors do better or Proton names and shames vendor-threaten to source components elsewhere or might as well ...... If Proton serious about competing overseas, then that attitude has to filter down to everyone working with Proton.

If not we will not have a situation where the export model has better quality than the local model. That should not be the case if quality is maintained. If not become "kera di hutan disusukan, anak di rumah mati kelaparan".
