Just got my Preve Turbo today. Chassis number is 38xxx.

So far everything looks good. Minor scratches which i highlighted to the SA so they will call me to touch it up.

Also anyone know the best SC to send for the 1k service in JB? I buy and use my own fully synthetic engine oil.

The AutoBacs shop near Tebrau City just open and they offer good prices for engine oil.

Thinking of getting hand wax done on the car as well.

if you bring own lubricant for service, anything warranty claim on the engine will not be entertain.

So have to use the SC engine oil.

Any idea what brand of oil they typically use if i request for FS oil?

Also manual says need to use 10W-30 or better, can use 5W-30? Or need to use 5W-40

As I work in O&G field, I have some accesses to purchase engine oil (any brand, any spec) at staff price tongue.gif Usually I ask what oil will be used if I send for service, and some SC do allow me to bring my own.

Proton service centres, either using Petronas or Shell.
if you travel frequent, use fully synthetic. save labour charge in the long run.
if you just clocking 5k km around 3 months, may just use semi syn.
5W-40 slightly better.

yes, they still allow now. something wrong with your engine, the time you want to warranty claim. just prepare to shout here and there.
working in O&G field, salary per month is like what?? 8k-15k? is it worth to challenge them next time?

amount save for every oil change (10k km);
15 times X RM80 (assume the max) = RM1,200
RM1200 spanning over the 5 years, is it worth?

30 a bit too thin for turbo engine... better get 40 at least... smile.gif

Proton SC for sure bringing Petronas engine oil (support local product)
But some SC no bring in the higher range of engine oil...

Nah my field is in upstream, and not production (downstream) tongue.gif But full or semi, they both have their own pros and cons. No doubt you'll get more mileage with fully, but I feel better sending my car for service every 5,000km hmm.gif

I've personally tested this in Preve HU:
* can play MP3, WMA in thumb drives
* can play playlist, and manually select songs in playlist (.m3u)
* can stream bluetooth audio from smartphones. On my Samsung S Advance (Android 4.X) I can pause, play next, play previous, mute the music in my smartphone using the steering controls
