Hi xifu, yesterday I bought a TPLINK WDR3600 to replace the Thomson router. Everything is fine yesterday, IPTV and internet. But after today ASTRO update their PVR software, my IPTV is not working with the TP link router. I try to plug back the Thomson router. The IPTV and internet are working
Anything I can do? Please help. Thanks |

Hi guys,
I am currently using Maxis + Astro IPTV. current setup is maxis router is the DHCP server with wireless radio enabled, two additional wireless routers are connected via Ethernet in access points mode to different floors. (a new ASUS RT-N14UHP, and an old Cisco WRT54G2) However i noticed that intranet communication seems to be a bit slow. Is it possible to set the ASUS RT-N14UHP as the DHCP server (main router) and setting the Technicolor and cisco as APs (slave mode). Would I gain better performance here? I am assuming that the ASUS router has better processing power than the maxis technicolour. and would astro iptv be affected if i leave it at the maxis router? my knowledge with networking is very basic, but would appreciate inputs from you guys. right now QUOTE TM modem-->technicolour(main router, DHCP)-->astro iptv -->Asus N14UHP (AP) -->Cisco WRT54G2 (AP) is it possible to retain the same layout with technicolour as AP and Asus as DHCP? QUOTE TM modem-->technicolour(main router, AP)-->astro iptv -->Asus N14UHP (DHCP) -->Cisco WRT54G2 (AP) would i gain better performance this way? would astro still work? |

Just had Maxis installed today since Unifi can't be installed in my place due to some backdoor agreements with Maxis. Any tips on using the technicolor router? How can I set the router to auto use Google DNS? Also amazingly I can't use my company's DNS server even tho it works fine with any other ISP I have used before (TM Unifi, Celcom/Digi 3G, P1 Wimax and YES 4G)

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Mar 3 2014, 10:06 AM) The earlier method does not work with version 10 firmware of the technicolor router. Please use the telnet commands as per below URL. Just substitute the open dns values with the dns of your choice. Works beautifully. There are also optional commands to increase wireless coverage, etc which I have used as well. Enjoy. http://npr.me.uk/telnet.html#dnsr10 This post has been edited by aceedburn: Mar 3 2014, 10:34 AM |
