Hi, welcome to this thread! wave.gif Before you start posting on this thread, please spare a minute to read the below message. Thanks. biggrin.gif

[/list]REMINDER:
  • This is not a trading platform, please do not offer your service or your SIM cards here.
  • This package is already a discontinued plan, hence you will not be able to sign up as new subscribers.
  • Still, it's the best for you to check with Maxis if this plan is still allowable for now. We are not liable for any misinformation as we are not working for Maxis.
  • This is NOT Maxis Wireless Broadband, Biz68/99 or SKMM thread! Their own thread is in this section. Check it out.

Can I use LTE on this plan.If you have a multisim attached, it is not possible for now. Last update : 29062013

Before you rant about your slow speed to Maxis Customer Care, please be reminded that speed is affected by few factors:

1) Your device:
-You can't expect it to have 20Mbps when your modem's capability is just running max up to 7.2Mbps.
-You might be having a faulty modem, try switching your SIM card with other modems.

2) Your signal coverage:
-If you are not within LTE coverage or getting awful, then don't expect to have 20Mbps of speed.
-Consider placing your modem at a better spot.

3) Congested with other users:
-If you live in an area where there are a lot of users, be prepared with network congestion.
-All telco providers will do survey first before doing bandwidth allocation.
-Even you got a 100Mbps modem, under congestion, you may not even get 5Mbps.

4) Timing:
-Avoid performing download activities during golden hours (7-11 p.m.), this is the period where those working folks are back to home and start jamming the line. Be considerate with others. You could schedule your downloads to start only after midnight when they go to bed. smile.gif

How to Complaint to Maxis
  • Tweet to Maxis CS @MaxisListens
  • Submit a complaint to Maxis Forum
  • Giving them a call through your Maxis mobile, the number is 123.
  • Use the Maxis Live Chat
Lastly, be patient and they will fix your issue soon!

Compiled by fruitie and updated.

well, ayam biz growing rate i think is the highest rate among all other maxis plan thumbup.gif

plus from last inccident, all it is under same category anyway, so if 1 group user rate spike, all other in same group will face similar result from maxis,..

First and foremost, that's an obvious mistake and Sony will not honour the deal. After all, the buyers don't pay a single cent to this transaction.

Secondly, this thing is already removed.

I have a Multisim which is AR batch and using on my Icon505 and i3Gs icon_idea.gif

However, i was told if you are a MOC member, you can request for a simcard replace at no cost and it will be mailed to your door step too , you can ask for a nano/micro sim too

I also bought a E398 from TS, one of my sim works fine with the E398 and one cannot work , I cannot blame the seller, just get the "fuzzy" simcard changed.

You can try other simcard, it work flawlessly , digi, umobile, celcom but maxis sucks

That's from different provider with different upstream/peering, so the speedtest result will be different. About the error, i'm aware about that and still investigating the nginx configuration. Still work when you paste the url manually though. I'm off to Friday prayer. biggrin.gif

Side tracked a bit... Er, I registered for a VPN service to connect to HK server. Most of the reputable ones like PD Proxy doesn't have HK servers, so I'm forced to subscribe to another service...

Not too expensive, only $5/month but I'm having troubles with Error 806. Those VPN specialists, please help me. cry.gif

I think I have opened the whatever port 47. You may suggest to me how to do this, I'm afraid I did the wrong thing... sweat.gif

it's not port 47 (not tcp, nor udp neither icmp or what so ever)
it's protocol 47, a GRE protocol (generic route encapsulation)
u need to allow this gre protocol or some of them call protocol 47 in your firewall to makesure vpn traffic can pass through

I guess if you previously used OpenVPN based stuff, get the TUN/TAP interface in the network connection enabled

Find in in the network sharing centre... and click network adapters, see if the TUN/TAP enabled

Tested their trial Netherlands free server, it is base on OpenVPN.

Quality is okay but I wouldn't comment much since it is free server.

Waiting them to PM me their Hong Kong details

I am not talking abt any Hell

I am referring to VPN services , Cheap in VPN means you will be sharing with lots of users, thereby the quality of the service will not be as good as a dedicated server meant for only for a few users.

Wise? It depends, if that person have lots of money to waste, who cares......... whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

whistling.gif I don't freaking care about the users, I don't do downloads via VPN, I only want my streaming.
A lot of money? Joker. And nobody cares.

VPN is not something I care la. I don't have much time to tweak around and play around. What's so great about asking me to see which IP you are connected to every time? Anything to boast? whistling.gif

Maxis Ping lately have been good but not DL speed

Anyway, latency is much more important if you are not into DL

But Streamyx Ping is the best , so i believe you have made a wise choice since you dun travel so much.

I use broadband in at least 2 different places daily, home and work, so fixed line is not my cup of tea.

Btw, lately my home desktop is very laggy, what could be the main reasons ?

Any suggestion ?

thanks

have u defrag your computer hard disk often ? if not, u can try this , smart defrag Version 2.7
( it auto defrag your computer when it not busy ... )

and use ccleaner ? ( tick all option inside and click clean )

and u can also enlarge your hard disk as ram space,..

-> my computer -> right click -> properties -> advances system setting -> advance -> performance -> click setting -> advance -> under virtual memory click change -> untick auto manage paging file size for all drives -> tick custom size -> initial size = minimum amount -> maximum size = recommend number below -> click set -> click ok x 3 times to exit,..

or

u can use any usb thumbs drive plug in your window 7 computer and use them as Readyboost ( boosting up your RAM )

Sometimes it happens to me too

why? I realised my E398 was very hot when it happened. Maybe because it overheats?

The only way to solve it is by restarting my MR3420 V2 and allow the E398 to reconnect. Disconnectng the E398 from the router and reconnect it doesnt work.

happens about 2-3 times per 2 days. Quite annoying, expecially when suddenly disconnected when playing online games.

higher performances modem = more heat create, even though there is built in heatsink inside E398

that's why i always mention put under cooling pad or blowing it with cooling fan,.. or in air con room

When happen it is at what LED.

If it is blue LED means MR3420 had crashed. Wait around 1 minute it shall reconnect automatically.

Another way to speed up your computer, but costly. Get SSD. no need defrag, boot up computer in less than 30sec.

very expensive per GB, but worth it. Im using it myself, and Im glad I made a worthy upgrade for my laptop.

No and never, Asus 3G support is even more buggy. Ask digilife

MR3420 do the 3G part, Asus N14 do the rest.

MR3420 cant handle too much traffic

I think traffic shaping does actually in action. It's so slow to surf international website without vpn. And yes it's so hard to push over 10mbps. shakehead.gif

If you guys any face any WiFi issue with your TP-LINK MR3420

Consider choosing either channel 1 or 6 or 11. If you got an Android phone, use an app called WiFi Analyzer and scan to see either these 3 channel which have the least interference.

And, force it to Wireless G.

If you got a thick pocket, just get another router to do the WiFi and networks.

So surprised their technical know the issue and don't even attempted to fix.

Even surprising, MR3420 V1 got better LTE modem compatibility than V2

Well, what to expect from RM80 router laugh.gif

Sorry if this question is already answered, but I have 1 simple question:

I've read the first page about maxis blocking P2P. And 1 question pops in my head:
Even if I use a router that can do port forwarding, it still won't do any good since Maxis block P2P?

maxis is 100% blocking the tracker port 80 & 6969

so your torrent will not able to get any seed nor peer,.

so no matter what u do, u wont be able to torrent,..

other than during midnight hour graveyard shift when maxis release these port,..

so if u want torrent 24/7, get yourself seedbox/torrentflux notworthy.gif

Maxis block p2p and come with a private ip

You can't even host a server or even cctv

You can't even port forward in a private ip environment

u using V1 or V2 ?

in my opinion, V1 with openwrt dialing maxis ( in my experience ) is better than V2 ( in openwrt or in tplink stock firmware )

if u dont have extra budget..

if u have high budget than that's another story ,..

Tp Link MR 3420 wifi router is not working properly with ipad, iphone, apple tv? It needs turning on/off wifi on the above mentioned devices every 10 minutes in order to have devices running properly... Somehow router "disconnects" apple mobile devices very quickly... Samsung laptop working with the same router has never had any problem with that! What's the problem?

I also having this problem.

Thanks Black tubi Channel 11 G only works

I think someone hacked the DiGi site. I can't think of any other rational explanation...unless someone in DiGi actually thinks this is funny April 1 stuff (the timing's off and it's not really funny).

Why so serious? DiGi is a fun telco anyway, though their line sucks.
It is meant for April Fool.

You see, if it only published on 1st April, then it is not that funny anymore.
Get the point?

Anyway DiGi's real Smart Plan offerings are already a joke, allocating half your usage for FB, Twitter & Whatsapp. And their WBB is now byte for byte more expensive than Maxis (although no time-based restriction for torrents). I recently moved from DiGi to Maxis (both phone & WBB) for two reasons: Maxis plans are currently more attractive & DiGi's 3G coverage sucks at my home area. (DiGi's EDGE on the other hand is still better than Maxis' EDGE)

If DiGi's LTE is also in the 1800MHz band, then I might be attracted back. Having an actual 30GB plan would also help!

Sorry for the OT.

Lodge an official report @ https://aduan.skmm.gov.my/

Then contact Maxis you want this case to be settled A.S.A.P. Also mention you have lodged a report with SKMM.

Faster way is to go to a Maxis Centre and make NOISE...a manager will attend to you icon_rolleyes.gif

128MB VPS and 100GB bandwidth for USD4 / month. Add on USD2 for every 100GB.

I'm testing it right now and it's quiet fast.

Their peering also nice. http://bgp.he.net/AS24482#_peers biggrin.gif

i cant finish it up by myself, but im going to pass it to my friend, which is around bangi area, so i scare she gonna use up the 30gb, then there is extra charge or something. cz i dont get to see the TnC sheet.. everything done by the seller.. this is why i need to double confirm first.. or can someone just double confirm with me the extra charge part.. quota is not really an issue anyway.

Surfmore75 was created for the purpose of LTE, the person who signed up should have the required device on a Ready Basis already, either its E392 or a LTE enabled handset.

If Maxis activate LTE in my area, you bet i will sign up surfmore75 to to a review for you guys. biggrin.gif

But deep in my heart, i prefer Celcom or DG LTE, see which telco can get my signature first. brows.gif

Have you guys tried DiGi's Upgraded Tomolo's Network ?

Its blazing fast even on low RSSI, maybe because most users have migrated over to Maxis/Umobile laugh.gif

ill assuming that u r saying ill probably using the line for massive downloading..

let me clarify something, i have unifi 5m @ home which enough for me already, so this line i dont really use much.. cant even reach 5gb quota each month..
i cant finish it up by myself, but im going to pass it to my friend, which is around bangi area, so i scare she gonna use up the 30gb, then there is extra charge or something. cz i dont get to see the TnC sheet.. everything done by the seller.. this is why i need to double confirm first.. or can someone just double confirm with me the extra charge part.. quota is not really an issue anyway.

Bring your sim card to TTDI, let them try on the spot

Tell them you want to see their technical team.

Explain to them that your SIM card have not been moved to the new HSS system.

If they enquire do you have a LTE device tell them you are using Lumia 920

Hi guys, am currently using huawei e355, and I have a zte mf691 in spare. I wanna connect my maxis internet to a wireless router as I am moving house and I will be sharing with my friend in the house beside. Basically it will be like this:

Modem --> TP-Link TP-MR3220/3420 --> Cable to house beside --> Another WiFi router

Question is, can I use any of my modems I own now? This WiFi would be use by 2 person from 2 houses.

E355 is not useful

The only useful is MF691 and MR3420

Anyway, if your house size is not too large, 1 MR3420 is enough and the house beside should receive the WiFi signal as well smile.gif

Else, drill one hole, LAN to the house and use another wireless router there.

Yep, that's what I'm planning to do. The house is quite near but with a lot of walls, I'm not confident that the WiFi signal would still be strong. I would drill a hole and route a cable to the house beside and then connect to another router.
Thanks for the suggestion. I thought E355 would work. I like it more than my MF691 which likes to disconnect me xD

Try find at Garage Sales section anyone still selling Huawei E372 else save a bit and straight to LTE modem E392/E398.

Yes it will work, you need to setup properly tho

Make sure the DHCP server IP don't crash with your original router.

E392 got 2 batch

MDM9200 and MDM9600 version

I dare not play play with this, few days back I wasted hours to revive my E392 because flashed a MDM9200 firmware to a MDM9600 one.

If it is MDM9200, just flash E398 firmware, for funny reason both of them are almost the same icon_idea.gif

No need fan also fine, just that my speed is between 2Mbps > 7Mbps, depending on time and location.

But anyway, i got myself a spare MF680 from a E398 users which retired his MF680 since he bought a E398 from you.

He is from Penang one. biggrin.gif

best with fan,.. just my personal opinion,

remove the sim card slot cover or open any antenna port hole, so the usb modem can have a bit ventilation ,..

if you are using without any fan and u feel great, then is good for you,.. notworthy.gif

Use a wireless bridge but strongly not recommended for obvious reason. smile.gif

Nope, unless signal is really bad. Can be fixed by forcing device to run on 3G aka WCDMA

I believe no.

Maxis will take this opportunity to Clear is cache of iPhone5 stocks before the bigger screen iPhone 5 S arrive at our shores in Q3. Iphone 5 take up is very very slow due to fierce competition from Android Jelly Bean new devices from Samsung and Sony. I believe you either sign up Surfmore/Talkmore or plain Broadband LTE for now.

Btw, YES 4G voice is very clear and crisp via its 4G Cloud fon. The clearest fon i ever used. I believe when 4G LTE voice will be superb too when LTE Voice is activated. YES 4G Cloud fon is a dimple a plenty in Garage Sale now biggrin.gif

u test and let us know the result bro....
since LTE activate widely on 1800mhz...it quite suprising alot ppl saying iphone5 cant get LTE when launch..
but seem they roll out iphone 5 with 1800mhz more fast than those on 2600mhz...
probably lack of LTE device with 2600mhz as android device come with alot flavour in malaysia...
even note 2 also 2 variant either GSM only (N7100) or GSM + LTE (N7105)

Those places that have LTE1800 also have LTE2600 rite ?

But mostly N2 is N7100 ( i mean the early batches ) rite ?

I believe Apple push LTE into iP5 is because of Galaxy 4 launched laugh.gif

mostly in our market note 2 is N7100 only..that is why the adoption of LTE rather slow and less ppl post out the speed..
with LTE implement on iphone, they can easily attract customer to sign with the current iphone and no need import other variant where as for note 2 they need to import N7105 to cater for LTE and old batch need to cheap sales doh.gif

remember speedtest on Thursday bro..waiting for your result.. drool.gif

N7100 is not LTE enabled lo. Not that I mind. Phone got LTE or not, that's not important.
More important is broadband.

I don't know about them but I'm happy with Note II.
Will change to Note III when it comes out. Once Note and only will be Note.

laugh.gif My speed is slow because I use panel antenna and I think it pointed to one weak tower.

Once I detached it, the speed flies. laugh.gif

legacy. As confimed by Maxis CS, they said need to go and change the sim card again for those who still unable to access the LTE at those selected area.

Just to add on, all our i5 are using the same plan and same spot, some connected to lte and some is not. So those not connected to LTE need to change the sim.
