sorry bro, i got a question... pls help...

for my xe1, i choose spot metering for exposure... and the ae button setting i choose "on/off when pressing" and "AE Lock only"...

but when i place the subject i want to snap at the dead centre, how come it wont help me to lock the exposure when i press the AE/AF-L button? there should be any EL icon beside the aperture right? any setting i get wrong? zzz

i'm in single shooting mode, manual control on aperture and shutter btw icon_question.gif is there any setting i got wrong?

**read up smthing that is weird here

You need to half press the shutter, the press the AE button. This will lock the exposure and you will see the EL icon.

I hv tried.. After half press then I press the AEL button, no EL icon appear..

After that I tried on something different, make the button lock AF and AE when press down.. Same, dont hv the EL icon appear.. But when I changing the aperture, it don't change! And the AF frame lock remain green.. Then I press the AEL button again, then the AF/AE-L off.. Which mean it actually works but just don't display the EL icon.. I'm getting very mad on these.. Any idea how to show it back?

I guess it should be a bug and restart the camera doesn't help =(

huhu, better separate these two camera into two different topic coz the little bro will continue being overshadowed by the big bros(x100/XE1/X-Pro1 user)..

Anyway I am still proud owner of x10 although I just bought them two weeks ago.

Here is the latest picture taken @ ICT this morning while my car being serviced at perodua center nearby.
Love x10 because it has a fast standard zoom range suitable for landscape to portrait ;-)

Personally i like x10 alot. With the induction X20, it gets even better especially the overlay which is one of the major feedback for X10, new sensor and processor.

If budget allowed, once i get X100s i will get X20 as a backup.

X20 give flexibility to shoot at variable focal length, although with a smaller sensor, it is still a good enough camera for many situation.

Imagine X100, X100s and X20 silver all stand together - what a cool collection.

a bargaining skill from me...

when u first ask the price from salesman, they will throw u a price based on their first sight at you (if u are a leng lui, you can get an even lower price  wub.gif )

then from there u keep on ask, got any freebies, cash price how much to show that you very interested... then here comes the most important part..

if you really plan to get from them and their starting price is good enough, pull a calculator from them to you and start pressing... round up a figure and tell them u straight take if price is agreed...

in my case, i bring my gf and i hide behind... wait my gf ask for the starting price, then i slowly come in and my gf fade out  biggrin.gif

i'm able to get my xe1 + 35/1.4 + Fuji original w126 for a total of RM4100... (talk until my mouth also thirst and dry  icon_idea.gif )

Thanks for sharing.

here's my bargaining skill.

Step 1, check the net / friends and various resources to get the lowest possible street price
Step 2, Go to reputable shops and tell them this is the price and ask them to match the price
Step 3, if ok. Pay. Done. if not ok, Go to next reputable shop until you get the price

My question to Fredrik of http://www.fujix-forum.com

QUOTE
Hi Fredrik, since af is faster now, can u share whether auto focus faster or press ae/al button to focus faster?

QUOTE
If you are asking which one is faster (AF-S + shutter vs MF + AEL/AFL button), the latter is probably a tiny bit faster - but they are both so fast I don't really see a difference between them. I switch between the two, keeping the camera at AF-S and switching over to MF when I need to.

Hi there, I do noted that focussing by pressing AEL button in M-mode is slightly faster compare to the auto focusing using S/C mode... And the focus square is a bit large/similar size to the maximum of AF frama in S/C mode..

Back to my question yesterday, I just figure out exposure unable to lock in manual exposure, it must be either Program/Aperture P/Shutter P mode.. Only can lock the AE with spot metering !

but i guess you will miss that X100 portability and canon 7D shooting speed...canon 5DM2 for street gonna break your neck...but if for work and wedding, no doubt is a good camera! Pair with 85mm f1.2 you are good to go... blink.gif
