Being asked about this a few times,

X100 is a very good camera. Good form factor, reasonable sharp picture due to its lens, vibrant fuji color, Very good high ISO up to 3200 etc etc. The thing that really bring down X100 is 3 things:

1) Average auto focus speed, especially in low light
2) Processor, slow start up, slow reading / write speed
3) its fix lens (some see it as cons)

If you can manage and adapt to the 3 given points, X100 is a superb camera and can produce really good picture.

X100s fixed point 1 and 2, focus is faster and more accurate especially with manual focus, new processor fasten the start up / write / read speed.

The faster focus speed may not be important for all, but for someone like me who wander the street for shoot, this is vital. Statically, i have more "keeper" now compare with X100

X100s also enhance many of the pros, e.g. ISO now usable up to 6400. (Personally this is a very big thing)

New sensor with higher megapixel may not gives alot of different, but with its omission of anti leasing filter, it seems sharper

In Sum,

If you dont own X100, and deciding between X100 and X100s

Buy X100s If you have the money,
Buy X100s If you have insufficient funds now, and not hurry to use a camera, save money.
Buy X100 then If you have insufficient funds now, but hurry to use a camera.

If you already own X100 and deciding whether to upgrade.

Simple. Upgrade if you have the money
