are you using reverse psychology?  hmm.gif

Reverse psychology? dont think so. Mackiddo is correct, you can ranting but you must remind yourself that after finish ranting, everything must go, if not, you will keep on complaining and complaining as the environment in SG is also alot of complaining here and there, mindset going toward negative, then you can say bye bye to SG because you cant take it anymore and MY would be better for you as you are local. situation does not changed but environment changed. maybe abit better.

My first pay was $1450. I live like Bangla until I save enough for the housing downpayment. Never complain as I know the reason to endure some hardship in the early years.

I am sure your uni never teach you real life is tuff. It get worst when you are easily distracted just because you do not have a long term goal.

As a foreigner here,if you think these are your destiny and you do not have the determination to take real action to improve yourself despite your current "suffering" then you should really think seriously about moving back to Malaysia before you get depression.

There is a HUGE difference between "writing your experiences" and "whining and complaining incessantly." Your posts are bordering on the latter, which is the reason why you've been getting those not-so-supportive responses.

I think of this entire thread, only seantang mackiddo and Fiona Chin can truly be described as elite. The rest of us are just middle class trying to figure out how to save up $120k to buy a HDB without resorting to marrying a Singaporean for BTO. But we accept that not getting everything you want whenever you want it is part and parcel of life, and don't go ranting about perceived injustices like 'oh my god I'm discriminated against because I'm a foreigner, wahhh life is so unfair.'

Hi xtylish, I am earning just SGD900 as a delivery boy but I never complain or butthurt like you. There are more people who earn way less than me.

You should not compare yourself with other person, especially if the job scope is totally different from you, not withstanding their prior experience and education.

Your degree is useless only when you think it is so. Many people here who never earn a degree but they are banker, Pilot , Manager because they believe they will be one some day. Like one of the banker said earlier, don't victimize yourself, because it may become true one day.

btw, go check up THE SECRET or just PM any of the elite here. They are more willing to help you.

Just pick yourself up and show to those who look down on you that you are not going to victimized.
back home, we were discriminated because of religion and skin color...what we did was to move here to be appreciated.
if this company does not appreciate you, find another that does.
just understand this...discrimination will happen no matter where you are.

Apparently calling you little girl is not appropriate. We are helping you in our replies.

For me, I got PR before I came to SG and graduated in local university here. So you can see me as half a local here already. Local very good right? After I started working, I can choose to compare myself with those expat that came to the same company I am with big expat package like housing allowance, transportation and entertainment, and think like you, world is not fair comparing local and expat. We all started some where low, then work hard to go up. You need to see this through yourself soon if you to be successful in life.

For you, you are already better than some of the people that come here. You are looking at an half empty cup. The cup can never be full, really. The size of the cup get only bigger when you get better in life, but it always half empty half full. Depend on you how you want to see it.

Hi All,

Just want to say something after reading the recent post from everyone. Everyone will have differences view in everything. We might think that is good and we are offerring our suggestion to someone. However, maybe we didn't get the whole story?? Anyway still what you all saying i also agree, if we keep comparing with other as use this as a motivation then this is a good push for us to move forward. However if we set our mind set as this is not possible or any negative reason then to me is quite hard we can achieve anything in life.

The pay scale seems about right.
You should not just look at qualification but also job scope. Your pay is lower could not be you're a foreigner but your designation.

Life is not rosy for all in any part of this world. You need to eat, you hunt for food.. If you want bigger portion, you have to strive for it. Having a qualification doesn't guarantee food on the table or in your case, driving a car and buying properties. This world is tough enough without us thinking how to fail.

I am feeling compassionate today. You need to go back to your drawing board and redraft your game plan. You feel defeated because you are trying to compare your future through the same lenses of your benchmarks. That’s wrong and obviously stressing you out. Everyone has a game plan. Fail to plan, you plan to fail.

How about saving enough for you to start a petty business in Msia/Thailand? Some forumers here stay in JB and travel to Sg daily to double up their savings. That sounds like a simple game plan to expedite their passions. Remove your mental block and re-strategize yourself. If all the dots are directing you back to Msia now, by all means do it. You don’t need a complicated game plan; just a rationale one will do. Your ability to stay disciplined counts more.

Your part of the world right sure sucks now until a white knight emerges. We all hope for one; but those that found it, they look for one.

@xtylish, nowadays got few type of graduates.

One I know is feeling of entitlement of X salary with their paper certificate without knowing their own ability or capacity.
Another one, do not want to face the harsh reality of working life and just run away doing masters simply because parents still can afford them for a sheltered life. By the time these masters holder grad, they will whine that their master worth less than spm.
