hmmm...
sometime cheapskate me will do some stupid calculation...
eg:
31007 Power Mech
223 pcs
rm99.9
1 brick cost = rm 0.447982062780269

seems expensive per brick, but it's 3 in 1 set. so go ahead and buy...

i wonder is it just me, or you sometime will do this type of calculation/rationing/finding excuse to buy?

or is it better to wait a bit longer for the 10% or 15% discount time only buy?
*
I think very difficult if you want to wait for discounts. By the time there are sales, the item you may want may no longer be available. This happens in my case as I'm only trying to limit to Batman LEGO for the time being (though being tempted by LOTR range and maybe some modulars (OMG!)

Speaking of Toys R Us? Anyone a regular at 1U who has the One Card? Do you know if you can use the accumulated points in the One Card for purchases at TRU?

I bought a packet of Garrett's Popcorn using the points in the One Card but when I tried to pay with points at Sushi King for dinner, they said their terminal doesn't allow for points deduction. Would be awesome if I can use the points at Toys R Us for LEGO biggrin.gif

Have about RM 50 worth of points balance. I had more than RM 70 and used RM 22 for Medium Garrett's Popcorn.

Maybe will go there and check with TRU staff.

Awesome. Have you used it at 1U TRU before?

Tried it at Sushi King and they have that sticker on the floor but the cashier told me their POS terminal is not set up to deduct points.

After this will be Sariel's Tumbler brows.gif

Hey bro,

rule no.1 : any toys amounting to or over RM500 inclusive of shipping will be tax

rule no.2 : depends on your luck and depends on how itchy the customs are. Some parcel over RM2000 get lepas without issues, some parcel RM550 get taxed.

Thanks bro for prompt reply.

Let say the item price is RM435 (seller provide free shipping from oversea), since the shipping is free, will customs judge the amount based on RM435 or they will simply adding another shipping cost to that amount?

Bricklink
Amazon
Friends oversea
etc etc tongue.gif

But if you are only buying 1 or 2 sets, not worth it because cannot cover for the shipping. If you buy more only worth it, but depends on you smile.gif

Coz calculated is still cheaper than M'sia. Even with 20% discount at Metro in SG.

QUOTE(scoop7 @ Mar 9 2013, 02:43 AM)
Fr HK?
wow...sure cheaper
*
Yes, HK. Thanks for the tips from some bro's here icon_rolleyes.gif I asked several pages earlier for places in HK. In's Point is worth to go. Seriously.
The varieties at HK Sogo (Causeway Bay) and Toy's R Us are very wide and a lot, but more expensive than In's Point.
Will source few more places, heard AA Place at nearby Kennedy Town (Island) sell by parts.

QUOTE(kenny_pang @ Mar 9 2013, 10:45 AM)
You make me wanna go holiday in HK. The savings will be good enough for the airfare.
*
Yes bro, bring big luggage with spare foldable bag inside. My luggage overflow. sweat.gif
Seriously worth it. Take current set 9398 as example:

M'sia I think definitely most expensive among MY, SG, HK.

SG selling SGD330 = HKD2050 = RM821
http://www.bricksworld.com/store/pc/viewPr...63&idcategory=0
Even with 20% discount, is RM657 (wait long long 1-2 times a year and if not sold out)

HK I manage to find HKD1500 = RM601

Of course, if any bro's in US or Europe, some can get even cheaper.
