QUOTE(hades4eve @ Mar 27 2013, 03:39 PM) QUOTE(Ultraman the great @ Mar 27 2013, 03:49 PM) yeah considering retail in msia last time was bout 400+ only. i was looking high and low for this set a couple of months back. but everyone already asking very high price... and a lot of resellers are still bringing in this set now cos i was told its still very hot and a lot of ppl looking for it... QUOTE(hades4eve @ Mar 27 2013, 03:52 PM) QUOTE(didsterius @ Mar 27 2013, 03:56 PM) I remembered last year can get the black pearl for about RM480 only. So tempted to get last time but unfortunately no money at that time cos saving up for modulars. Now they selling for RM750?? like ALJ only! QUOTE(Bigfoot-X @ Mar 27 2013, 04:11 PM) Not sifu lah. Just a big fan Sorry. Black Pearl is a discontinued set so no way you will pick up a bargain unless the seller has been hiding in a cave without internet for the past 12 months! haha! Just wondering what's so special about The Black Pearl? Saw that and Queen Anne's Revenge in Mudah. Prices are around RM 750 (I think) Lucky I'm not into POTC! imho Black Pearl is quite a basic set, not much in terms of playability other than the really cool black of the entire ship and of course the minifigs. I prefer Queen Anne's Revenge, size is more decent. The Black Pearl feels more like a little sampan and the minifigs don't have much room to move around the deck... And what I am really drooling all over the deck is the massive 10210 Imperial Flagship! Now that's a real ship! Nice to play with and very impressive as a display set too! If I'm going to pay RM700-800 for the Black Pearl and Queen Anne's Revenge I'd rather pay the current asking price of RM1300-1400 for the Imperial Flagship. |

QUOTE(scpt @ Mar 27 2013, 11:51 AM) I hope they won't produce this so I won't get poisoned do share after you upgrade it! I've seen some videos, it does crawl along slowly QUOTE(Lego_Jason @ Mar 27 2013, 12:01 PM) Well, Lego are not RC so I don't think we can achieve the speed that RC cars can even after we changed the gearing. imho need to put in RC car motors to up the speed that would be the easy way but then again I'm no mechanical engineer so I can be totally wrong about this! Just wanted to give my 2cents and help push this to V8! lol! Yes, Lego are not RC. Cannot compare the speed/agility at all. If want to compare with RC, just straight get RC toys. There is someone who open up the motor and change to RC motors, with glueing/soldering/etc. Yes, it can speed and zoom like RC cars, but that defeat the real purpose of Lego -> Constructive learning toy. Not just for playing. Unimog is much heavier than Crawler, and the tyre contact patch is bigger, hence I have not self-study it yet. I can see there are empty spaces in the chassis for servo-motor and 1-2 motor. That is my 2nd phase. 1st phase is to practise upgrade XL motor for Crawler. |
