I got some LEDs if you want want=sell? its going fine. actually, not going anywhere. but so far, its working alright. a nice volume boost. and when the gain is maxed, u can get a thick creamy overdrive... ill post up sound clips ...soon. oh yeah..the leds? one tip for soldering...
go to jalan pasar and find one small can of Solder Paste. put it on both the contacts that u wanna solder, and when the hot solder on the iron touches them, the solder will flow smoothly and stick on the contacts. try em, you won't regret it! shouldn't cost more than rm5 per small can. |

QUOTE(nick_drake @ Apr 18 2006, 01:58 AM) heh, thought of gettintg DPDT switches from wohfatt. but i saw the milinium bypass diagrams here.. http://geofex.com/Article_Folders/Milleniu...20Millenium.pdf note : this post is quite long n boring... kindly ignore this post if you think that its too long n boringscares the shit outta me. i dont knw what parts..and i dont knw if they're available. 3PDT it may be...so who's got paypal...damn ridiculous tho, to pay 27 ringgit for a bloody switch. - sorry for the long post hmm.. honestly i dont know wut DPDT,SPST or 3PDT .. but after reading some data sheets i learn a little... DPDT stands for Double Pole Double Throw, SPST - Single Pole Single Throw and 3PDT - Tripple Pole Double Throw... The number of poles determines the number of input.. eg : double pole - 2 inputs single pole - 1 input only tripple pole - 3 inputs The number of throws determines the switch ability eg : single throw - switches between on or off (basicly open or close circuit) double throw - switches between x or y (x to y may be any connection connected the circuit) These switches could be in of anyform as long as they perform the task which they are designed to do... it could be a simple toggle switch, electromagnetic relays to Intergrated Circuit, IC(CMOS). The url u have found is the IC type (CMOS) http://geofex.com/Article_Folders/Milleniu...20Millenium.pdf http://pdfserv.maxim-ic.com/en/ds/MAX4699-MAX4702.pdf Basicly are high performance switches... with switching delay in nano seconds (10^-9 s) .. therefore the most expensive type.. The electromagnetic relay type... the following example http://www.hobbytron.com/NTE/relay/pdf/R10.pdf This is a lower performance swich.. with swiching delay in mili seconds (10^-3 s).. much cheaper and the toggle switch type.. the following example http://www.hobbytron.com/NTE/relay/pdf/R10.pdf This type... no performance rating..a simple switch therefore, cheap.. conclusion : if it is juz a bypass switch... the simple switch will do otherwise if your circuit requires the switch for other purpose.. u may have no choice but to bare the cost.. as for the cost between DPDT and 3PDT... i dont think there should be much difference in terms of cost... yes actually DPDT, SPST, 3PDT etc are available in many forms including toggle, relays, and push type. but for stompboxes you need to specifically get those metal push types, coz... well... the name stompbox explains it. you "stomp" on the switch. toggle switches just dont cut it. and plastic push switches may break over time.

haha shouta, no worries. i actually appreciate people taking some time off to post long detailed info.
yes, i agree on the cost of DPDT's and 3PDT's being more or less the same, 3pdt's being more expensive. hmm...ok...lets do a little calculation... wohfatt sells DPDT's at 20. aron's 3PDT's at $14.10 for two, which is 26. delivery included. 6 bucks difference. if i choose a dpdt, there'll be more hassle doing the milbypass. whereas 3pdt, i just sit here and wait for it to arrive..say..4-14 days. malaysia being far far far away...say 2 weeks. and i dont have paypal. pfff...i'll start with a dpdt first. will go downtown soon. |
