TQ MWC...just waiting new car next week and send for paint correction..

Oh, new car is it.

Then not much paint correction to be done really, but still better do before coating. I mean just a light one will be just fine.

The thing about paint correction is the skills of the detailer, not what liquid they will be using.

Janji paint correction cantik, then yourself clean the car bling bling... then apply nice coating on it.

I think most of the coating are the same la, it comes down to how long it can last.

ARJ is selling off his opti-coat, you can get it from him if you are interested. I think he has too many coating liquid in his house dy .... biggrin.gif

I think what he meant was "the guy" is the only person who knows how to handle a polisher by the brand of "Master"... Not sure if I get the idea right or not.

Lambo Malaysia actually kind of weird too, there are so many different types of brand out there... yet they must use something that is so .... errmmm.... "outstanding".

Isn't it easier just to go for something like Bosch ke, Skil ke, DeWalt ke, Rupes ke ... etc.

No, that thing is just a nozzle. You still need a pump.

Try search in this thread, I pasted a link where groupon is selling portable pressurized water tank.

I think what he meant "master polisher" as the term that the only "main man" that handles all teh cars be it new or pre - reg for lamborghni malaysia. I personally know that detailer as well and i can say comparable to darren's work.

Darren's place u are paying for his rental and his lighting room and nice pictures i would say. would u rather your money translate into your car or his rental?

This detailer has been maintaining all my cars from sedans to hatchbacks.

Tell the salesman don't wash/polish/wax the car. Tell him you'll give him RM100 (more if the car is over RM100k) if he follows your instructions. It will cost much more than that to correct a swirled up car.

If the dealer didn't touch the car, you can probably get away with only light polishing at the shop, no need to compound. Tell the shop no need to wax either if you plan to apply your own coating at home.

Once you're back home, even if it's a 15 minutes journey, a proper full blown wash with two bucket and good quality wash media (thick microfiber, wash mitt, etc.) is still required. Since it has been polished earlier, claying is not required. Glazing also not required if you're coating the car. If using wax/sealant, can use glaze if you want.

If you're planning to Opti-Coat the car and this is your first time doing so, I'd suggest you spend a good few hours watching application videos on Youtube and read up the installation guides on a dedicated detailing forum. If you mess up with Opti-Coat you might even need to polish the area to correct it. No need spray wax or QD after that. After Opti-Coat the car shouldn't get wet for the next 1 hour, best to leave it dry for 24 hours.

Not a sifu but will try to answer. Here's what I'll do which is an ascending order of agressiveness.

1. Wash with shampoo.
2. Clay.
3. Spray the area liberally with an all purpose cleaner, let it dwell for a minute and rub with microfiber.
4. Paint cleaner.
5. Polish.
6. Compound.
7. Wetsand.

To clean up small areas you can get some alcohol pads from pharmacy. If you have some WD40 you can try that as well. Spray and let it dwell for 10-20 seconds, wipe it with a cloth and quickly rinse the area with water. Make sure you don't leave the WD40 on the surface longer that required as it can stain the paint.

wd40 can be easily removed/washed with most APC/car shampoo smile.gif
if you somehow left it too long/dried (please don't lol) can consider stronger cleaners such as degreasers
