proximity sensor issue. the screen will turn into black when you put your ear next to it.

Does your SP cover it?

Nope, that is about the right price.

If u hold the phone close to your face, of course the screen will black off, proximity sensor at work. If it darkens without holding the phone close to your face/by your ear, probably the screen protector (SP) is interfering with the proximity sensor. Did this just happened recently? Did u change to a new SP?

it happens when the phone is both close and not close to my face.

how can I fix it ?

edit: ok the sensor works fine now on and off my ear/face.

but if this were to happen again in the future, how can I be prepare for it ?

what are some steps do I need to take solving it ?

do u use SP ?

Its your screen protector if you have it placed. Just remove your screen protector and place it slightly lower than it is now... try placing it even lower if the problem persists

Let me get this straight,

"The second you make the phone call" (is the phone near your ear or does it go black even WITHOUT you putting it near your cheeks?)

try restart ur device...mine happen once after restart gone..

I noticed that something related to bluetooth sometimes cause the phone to freeze temporarily - like, taking too ling to respond when i turn on/off BT, or during file transfers (where it doesnt respond). Im the impatient type so when that happens i just soft reset. Happened twice so far.

Bought a casing from Nokia store in pavilion...last cover, grey colour...now i can switch from yellow to grey or grey to yellow...gardens and LYP all sold out...well at least the wireless charging stand seems to be back in stock...

could be dust ?? wpcentral reported there is dust inside the front camera, and proximate sensor are locate near to front camera.

Btw, do note that users report that the casing is causing some blemishes to the phone back casing due to uncertain reason. You can refer here at WPCentral forum

Erm i have the same problem, on my black lumia ( really sad ...i got it without using a case...and since it was really bothering me ...i decided to get a case so that i dont see it hahah...but still the fact that its there and cant be removed saddens me

Proximity sensor is above the N and O alphabet of the Nokia logo, i dont see it being affected by dust. That's quite some distance from the front cam.

Ouch sorry to hear that. But maybe u can try put on those shield (eg. Xtremeguard or Invisible Shield or the ArmorSuit?). Not sure if they going to hide the blemishes but definitely is an extra layer between ur phone and the harmful stuff.

It's the right price. I got mine for 309 too. I already though it's going to be at that price range, wish it was cheaper though. Also manage to get a red casing from Nokia LYN as well.

Everything will be gone in a day unless you are lucky. Yesterday I go, stock just came very lucky...
