most likely the new batch comes with portico pre-installed...
well, is just a few days to march...but i'm just wondering which part of March will we be getting it...
kinda disappointed that it took so long to get OTA...
now i know why it took apple so long to implement OTA to iOS...but once apple implement OTA, it was almost a flawless implementation...almost all phones get it at the same time...

hopefully MS will improve and get OTA done better in the coming updates, but i wont put any hopes too high...
with the rate windows phone division is working, it will take some time...
the promised 18 months updates now seems so "short"...

Yeah you got a point there. But I think 11% is too much. Or maybe the battery status is not accurate ie slow update
*
try uninstall and install back whatsapp...
i have updated mine this morning too to 2.9.4...so far the battery drain seems normal...

portico update
nt today?
*
dont think they posted the exact date...it was mentioned the update will come in March, but no date was given...
so this could mean early March, mid March, or even end of March...

might just be me, but honestly the seems of lack of urgency from MS, is really frustrating...
at least nokia is trying to make something happen with their lumia line, but the same cant be said for MS...

Guys,
I phone has restarted 4 times today since this morning. The latest update I have done to my phone is the display + touch & access point. Anyone else facing this problem ? Is there any way to revert these updates ? Thanks
*
dont think can un-install those updates, but i'm not experiencing random reboots after updating display + touch, access point and nokia account...

Hey how much you bought the casing? RM49?

Btw, do note that users report that the casing is causing some blemishes to the phone back casing due to uncertain reason. You can refer here at WPCentral forum

I myself is planning to get 1 of the casing too.
*
Thanks for the heads-up...I guess I won't be using the casing as often until I get those invisible shield, but I'm also worried about the residue that invisible shield might leave when I remove the invisible shield, like sticky residue...

Got the casing for RM 39...

/rant mode

wonder when the portico update is going to come to us...mid march coming soon, and i doubt they will do the roll-out in one shot...
then read an article in wpcentral that even some 620s (in other countries) are having new firmware that enable the more detail storage display and can delete those temp files...
i know 620 is having lower storage and thus the main priority to have the newer firmware, but roll-out of the portico update is really doh.gif

is post portico update, a firmware update to be exact as the OS version seems to be the same...

QUOTE
It appears that a very few Lumia 620’s have already come off of the line with the latest firmware on board. That’s perhaps to be expected, but it also looks like it’s this firmware that will bring advanced Storage management, including the ability to clear temporary cache files in “other” storage.

Currently, most Lumia 620’s are on the 1250 firmware. A few days ago, 1304 began to populate Navifirm and sure enough within the last day or so, 1307 has appeared for one device/region. It is that 1307 firmware that brings this new ability (we know only because we’re on 1304 ourselves). The OS though is the same Portico 10211 as found on current Windows Phones.

Last week, we mentioned how the new Lumia 920 firmware 1308 also brings new Storage options similar to the ones found on the Lumia 620. That tells us that this appears to be either an OS-level enabled feature that is activated via firmware or it is a Nokia specific feature that is installed during the firmware update. At this point, it’s still too early to tell between those although it’s starting to look like a Nokia-fix to the problem.

Currently, users on Windows Phone are facing an “other storage” problem whereby it fills up with some bad information or files that failed to uninstall. As a result, users can lose gigabytes of potential storage space to this filled area with no direct way to clean it. Microsoft has acknowledged the problem recently and mentioned fixes on the way, of which this seems to be at least one.

With this new Lumia 620 firmware enabling this feature we can only imagine that Nokia is preparing a new firmware update rollout for numerous devices across their portfolio. Judging by what is found on Navifirm though, we still have a few more weeks to go before that begins, as many devices have not had new firmware packages uploaded meaning they are still being tested.  It’s also unclear if a new OS update will come with this rollout i.e. GDR2.

In NaviFirm Plus 1.7, the latest firmware is 1232.5957.1308.8 for Malaysia. Is this Portico?
*
this is a post portico update, so you will get the updated firmware too...thus with this firmware you can check your storage and delete those pesky temp files that occupied the storage under others...

i think i will wait till end of the month for nokia malaysia to release the update OTA...
will flash using the nokia software updater next month...

I never wait for Nokia Malaysia to release their official firmware update. I'd been using their first touchscreen smartphone 5800XM, N8, PureView 808, till now Lumia 920. They always delayed for like at least 2-3 months when other countries already got the firmware released. All the while I manually update my phone. Last time using Phoenix, and now using Nokia Care Suite.
My Lumia was flashed to Portico on the first hour I received my phone and never have any weird issue or restart at all. Now already flashed to the 1308 again.
*
are you using the NSU or nokia care suite? both is the same software or different?

if im not mistaken, Nokia Care Suite is the Main program while NSU or Nokia software Updater is one of the subprogram inside Nokia care Suite.
*
oh i see...i searched around and the latest version for NSU is 2.0.6...
and most of the links are from file sharing sites...
later tonight will try to download from one of the links then try to update...
not planning to go to wait to go nokia store or nokia centre and wait hours for them to update...

*
try updating those nokia apps first...
then you should be able to see those options...

finally finish downloading and flashed...
downloading speed is kinda slow for me...but flashing is fast...
now busy put back all the mp3...

as for apps, i just install LINE, whatsapp and wechat...and also wpcentral app...
updates those nokia apps as well...
let see how's battery and also the random reboot thingy...

took few random shoots, the pics are sharper compare to previous firmware, which is always a plus...
