Nokia doesn't usually announce anything big at the MWC, they usually like to have their own floor rather than the 15 minutes of news coverage at the MWC. News cycle moves so fast now so they need maximum coverage for their premium phones. MWC cover the whole gamut so, publicity wise, not so much.

There's here.com and the ability to save all of your favorites (Maps, Drive, Lens) to the HERE cloud, so any changes you map in any of the apps and even the here.com o the PC will be synced to the apps. This is really cool with regards to the integration of all the data in the 4 apps.

Updated my Drive+, Maps, City Lens and this morning opened Here.com and all my POIs are synced ... sweet!

Have you guys tried switching off cellular data once you manage to get a GPS Lock? I've experience this before as well while I was going to Johor and lost the GPS signal when I was on the blinkin' highway. After I disabled the cellular (actually I disabled it to stop the app from looking online for everything instead of using the offline POIs ...) and the GPS lock were much much more stable (no more "Lost Sateelite Reception")

There are only certain things that are backed up to Skydrive.

1. Contacts
2. SMS
3. Photos (if they are enabled in the settings)


That's about it. Everything else is NOT BACKED UP. So if you are playing those nice games, the game saves or any of the app data are not saved, whatsapp chat history are not saved (though the latest version of whatsapp have a backup function, no idea where it is backed up to though).

Even your grid layout is not saved so if you have those nice layout that you have painstakingly setup, you have to do all over again should anything happened to your phone.

I keep ranting that MS needs something like iTunes where you are allowed to save a FULL BACKUP of your iOS devices on the computer. They need to put this as the no 1 priority ....

Hmm that is weird. Usually when I take new photos, and if I have no internet at the time, I can go into the Photos and there will be a note at the bottom like "Upload Pending". Do you see any of that? Maybe the upload is not working because it doesn't detect any internet connection or something or maybe the size is so big that it's waiting for Wifi ....

It's called AppSwitch you can llok it up usig the Store app in your phone.

Not that I know of. I think that is hard-coded in the OS.

Lost my Mix Radio today .... Dafuq .... the phone rebooted and Mix Radio is no more .... dang it. I don't know how I managed to get it in the first place but dang it ..... all my mixes are gone ... haihhhh.

Okay this is weird, I went into Music + Video app (instead of Nokia Music) and saw the history page and saw my mix radio songs ... opened that and the offline radio began playing via Nokia Music ... weird .... not complaining but weird ...

No, Nokia Music has something similar to Pandora where you can download mixes for offline listening. It's totally free so you can download up to 4 mixes (1 mix has I think 30 songs or somthing like that). This supposedly is limited to North America & Europe but I managed to get it 2 months ago (dunno how, I just did). Yesterday it was gone ....

Yeah, the error message was "You are not connected to the Internet" ... easy come, easy go ... it was a good 3 months ...

Downloading SophieLens. It's now free from Nokia ..... It's an instagram clone and it's built in into the Lens which is cool.

It happens to all of us. Sometimes you get updates and sometime not. That is why I bought the WPCentral app, they always are up to date with App Updates. The store will poll for updates every 1 day so that's probably why it is so late in getting the info.

Are on on Automatic Brightness setting? Try changing it to a fix setting (High/Medium/Low) and see if the flickering is happening. I know that if on Portico, people have complained about the brigness going haywire if they set it on Auto. If after setting it on fixed brighteness, you still have this issue, then it maybe a hardware issue.

I have not used the Auto settings even after updating it to Portico and the latest Display + Touch thing. It's probably due to the fact that setting it to a fix Low setting saves me a lot of battery. I remember having this problem after updating to Portico and since I set my brightness to Low after that, I didn't get the flasing of the screen (moving from a dark room to a bright room etc). I have a suspicion it's the Auto brightness setting on Portico.

Let me set mine to Auto and I'll report back to you guys.
