QUOTE(skyline100 @ Mar 30 2013, 09:16 PM) Well it happens to every brand's fanboys. yup, i agree with you. Sadly thats the case nowadays. Nexus with their own fanboys, HTC, Samsung. Samsung's fans once bashed that the iphones' design are not innovative, well now look at S4 vs S3. Not to forget the original Galaxy S series design is an obvious copycat of iphone. Nokia is so proud of it's polycarbonate design, keep on reusing it, until today still no major changes. LG no need mention, look at the optimus pro G. just that, Im sticking with Samsung now due to the fact that they offer us freedom from Google demands; no SD slot, no removable battery. Not to say that Im biased on Samsung, but really, I am no Google yes-man either. Why would a customer follow what they want, which is to depend on the cloud, hence the 16GB max offering from the Nexus 4? I understand that its one of their money-makin part of businesses, but by restricting our options on local storage? Thats like, they're heading little by little to what Apple is now. Some might not agree with me with this, but this is just my opinion that what Samsung is offering, is a good thing for us. Freedom of not opting to go for the cloud, plus the removable battery, which as you know, battery capacity reduces with time. It's gonna be a whole lot cheaper to be able to take out the battery and replace it with another battery rather than having to send out the whole phone to the service centre in order to replace it. Rationally, why would you hate Samsung for allowing this, aside from championing the company that restricts our options? This post has been edited by emy_xvidia: Mar 31 2013, 06:24 PM |

For me, as long storage 32gb and above, no point having SD card as that also lead to slower performance.
A lot normal user even 16GB also enough for them. I am not superb light user but definitely 32GB was enough for me. I don't really see follow trend of removing sdcard is a bad move. 2nd - I never change battery for my phone in my life before. So with none removable battery can build better solid back cover is a plus for me. Nowadays a lot user change phone every year or at least two years per one. Within this period, normally battery still serve you well. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Mar 31 2013, 07:18 PM |

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Mar 31 2013, 03:52 AM) totally no idea how they do it with slimmer body + narrow from s3 Actually when you check on S III it was obvious they still room for them to fit in the extra 0.2mm screen size. It was possible. As for the slight slimmer was nothing impossible to happen. http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone2=4238 but that s4 is using snapdragon s600 not exynos 5 octa, waiting for this <<< As camera, I was damn surprise Samsung put in such narrow view of camera in S 4. This was really a big cons even but just compare itself with S III only. |

As for the slight slimmer was nothing impossible to happen. Hmm. If im not mistaken, the narrow field of view is software related, so samsung might be able to do something about it before the official sales of the phone, or push updates out once people got their phone already.. Btw, according to GSM, S4 camera quality better than One wor. As camera, I was damn surprise Samsung put in such narrow view of camera in S 4. It's the freedom of having that option whereas other manufacturers have followed suit to what Google want. Everytime this is mentioned, cloud is something that most people would say is the future, not here, but on some other forums. Tell me, do you really wanna be that dependent on Google now? Well this is just my opinion btw, to me, its better having that options rather than not having it at all. A lot normal user even 16GB also enough for them. QUOTE(waveweaver @ Mar 31 2013, 08:26 PM) The SD card slot is not that important for me, but I do know there are a lot of people need it. Sometimes the purpose is not because of expanding the storage, but for the portability. With SD card you can move and exchange data fast. Further more I think with SD card, hacking(jailbreak/root) will be easier. |

QUOTE(skyline100 @ Mar 30 2013, 10:28 PM) Funny because when I said trend, I mean "larger, thinner, lighter than its predecessor, more radio chips also bigger battery capacity", isn't this the trend of the flagships over the years? 5" is just a tiny part of the facts. Not trying to argue, but I pointed out that every flagships are improving, not just S4, but are they enough to be called "innovative"? Bigger screen with similar size = innovative? That is the point. I think I had made myself quite clear. My bad maybe I should have made it more obvious for people. You don't have to be that offensive, for sure you can support anything you like. QUOTE(joelucas91 @ Mar 30 2013, 11:51 PM) +1 Lighter, thinner, faster cpu, bigger battery , larger screen is all that's left in the race moving forward until someone creates something revolutionary. The laptop form factor has been the same for 20+ years, nobody complains it's a screen with kbd and battery. Even the macbook air is an extremely thin device that has the same elements. I gotta admit that I am seriously not a fan of the iphone 5 when it was launched. Even now I'm still not a fan, but holding one in the hand, the design and materials used are top notch and the build of it exudes premium quality. Did I mention that it's seriously light too? The materials used are great and the feel is pretty awesome. Was seriously surprised, and in a pleasant way too. That said, I'm still not gonna buy one QUOTE(emy_xvidia @ Mar 31 2013, 08:22 PM) what i wrote just now is not about what you need or you think is sufficient. For cloudy fans, search for a recent legal case in the US last year whereby the judgment was that once it's on the cloud, Uncle Sam owns all your bits, not you.I'd rather control my own bits thank you very much.
