Anyway, you're not wrong too because S4 is already stepping into the phablet category since it has a 5" screen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phablet

QUOTE(Chocobos @ Mar 17 2013, 01:38 PM) how are they gonna touch the screen and click on the apps QUOTE(destEX @ Mar 17 2013, 01:39 PM) hd games for mobile have long existed, so no sweat. For eye obviously using the front camera, then they calibrate your eye movement to the controls and walla. but then i doubt it will be a very solid way of movement/aiming and you cant not move your head at all...so there must be other ways that devs are interested in utlizing this. What if i have small eyes?? Lol. people with small eyes can't use also, or people with no eyes LOLanother thing are the new sensors, many new interactive apps can be made with new sensors, in the future i foresee motion sensors being in mobiles and we would be playing games like the Wii and Kinect when they rotate or move their eyeballs the sensor can't detect |

i seriously doubt the game which detects eye motion is gona be here in the next 2-3 years...definitely wont be in this s4...
the screen size is only 5 ", for the smart pause to work, you have to actually turn your whole head away from the screen.. One way i can think of making this work is by using the face detection which is already present in cameras, and as you turn your head away,it doesnt detect the face and pause the video.. All in all,i dont think the front camera is detecting the eyeball and eyeball tracking is definitely not going to happen, not to mention precise tracking for aiming in fps games in such a small screen.. |

QUOTE(Oldskolboyz @ Mar 17 2013, 01:59 PM) they are just stating about the potential and the possibility..and if you could see the demo in smart pause, the demonstrator actually turned his head about 90 degress away from the screen..so i doubt it is gona work on the s4,maybe it will work in the near future where new eye tracking sensors are made small enough to fit on the phone..as for the dirt 3 demo video and the eye tribe thingy,i think it is managable cause of the big screen and the wide sensors.. |

If you are viewing web pages or reading e-books, you dont have to scroll with fingers, just use your eyes to scroll. as for the smart scroll,it would be more reasonable for me if they say they detect the face with the camera and as you tilt the device, they detect the face going 1 direction and scroll the device or maybe they do it with the gyro sensor? If you look at this video here He actually cover off the front camera which kinda prove my theory of smart pause based on face detecting..and the video pauses when it didnt detect the face.. Eye tracking won't be coming that soon in a phone , imagine the processing power needed to track and also not to mention battery life.
Samsung is good at implementing features , some may be gimmicky but some like smart pause or air gesture does seem to be useful. |

QUOTE(Chocobos @ Mar 17 2013, 12:45 PM) This topic can easily be mistaken for Samsung bashing instead of S4 discussion. I don't really care about the material they use to house S4. It's just the design that disappoints me. Like others been saying, was hoping for a new and better look. HTC One looks much better. However, I'm looking beyond aesthetic and would rather have better supports and features. SD Card, removable battery and faster updates are still my most important criterias in choosing my next phone. I would have considered the One but it lacks things I want. When Key Lime Pie is ready, I believe Samsung will not let their customers down. They will be among the firsts to get a taste of the new version of Android. Software vs design? Software it is for me. But too ugly phone I also don want la QUOTE(PeeEl @ Mar 17 2013, 12:52 PM) It is not. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but when one posts some ridiculous or un-substantiated statements, it just irks me. Absolutely everyone is entitled to their opinions. The only thing is that civil society does not make imposition of one over another. There is quick degeneration into camps when a sentence goes "I think A is worse than B and screw A" without substantiation, and the originator of said post doesn't take an effort to clearly elucidate why his position is so.QUOTE(giovanni @ Mar 17 2013, 01:14 PM) Yeah they are similar but not identical. iphone 3 to iphone 5 are all similar too in case you haven't noticed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending samsung neither am I bashing Apple. I have far too many gadgets from different brands (apple, samsung, htc etc). What baffles me is the fact that, there are obvious changes to the design (less curvy and bigger screen compared to S3) but people choose not to acknowledge it. Absolutely correct again. Frivolous (as kindly reminded by PeeEl) and nebulous come to mind since some can only see skin deep. I can't help but wonder how people take 6" platform shoes (or somesuch) as contemporary fashion when it was vogue in the 70's.Of course I know it looks similar to its predecessor and boy, I how wish samsung did revamp the design too but, there are changes nevertheless. To fit a bigger screen on a similar body size is already an impressive feat, don't you think? Apple has to elongate the body of IP5 to do this. QUOTE(destEX @ Mar 17 2013, 01:29 PM) so can suggest another flagship phone with gooding specs, gooding xda community support and with removable battery cover and microsdcard slot? This I eagerly await as well. However I would prefer the use of the term "excellent" to "gooding". A Google of "gooding" yields no linguistic usage scenarios, only place names and Last names.QUOTE(SnailWithFingers @ Mar 17 2013, 01:46 PM) how are they gonna touch the screen and click on the apps Uh, use their tongues? So Chinese ghosts with long tongues can use it? What if i have small eyes?? QUOTE(AC_ryan94 @ Mar 17 2013, 12:15 PM) No wonder nobody here replied you. All you do is shouting. If you really are Samsung fans, you should at least know all those Plus and Mini has lower spec than the original. Plus does not mean more. The S at the back denote same design with hardware upgrade like Apple did. It's just a joke anyway. |

Poison poison. After looking at the S4 pictures for too long, I feel it's not that bad also la(and maybe due to the fact I quite like S3 design also)
