QUOTE(Hansel @ Jul 6 2020, 12:10 AM) I wouldn't be surprised,.. tks bro,... Prb is,... if they cut too low, the RM will depreciate further,... i do not think they are so worried about the RM depreciating. They want to be assured more on exports and domestic consumption.

I know too, 'cos they don't seem to mention too much abt this matter. The thing is.... many of the items we have in this ctry are imported. If our RM depreciates badly, things will become too expensive. The 'main street' people will suffer,... I'm not even talking abt travellers and parents who have children overseas,...

Talking abt import-&-export pov, I agree when our RM depreciates, more importers will buy from Msia. But,... if the raw materials used to manufacture the products is imported, the net gain and margin will go down if the export prices of the goods are fixed to a contractual arrangement.

That is why a company must use as much local.raw materials possible.

QUOTE(TOS @ Jul 1 2020, 12:35 PM) Yes and no. It's right that government should prop up the economy. So, they rely on GLICs, i.e. EPF to invest domestically and boost the economy. You are back to square one. Don't be too naive to think that EPF safeguards your retirements. (I used to think that EPF should protect your retirement savings too.) They are ultimately reporting to MoF, not you. See this book: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=97154971 for more info. (Ignore the debate of whether selling ASNB FP units with markup commissions is illegal over there. ) on this about investing in local Public listed companies, to boost the economy... just read this headline (cannot read more as it is only for subscribers) Published: Tuesday, 07 Jul 2020 Bursa Malaysia chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar has stressed on the need to address the issue of declining public listed companies’ (PLC) earnings since 2015 https://www.thestar.com.my/business/2020/07...d-omar#cxrecs_sThis post has been edited by yklooi: Jul 7 2020, 05:00 PM

QUOTE(bisobona @ Jul 7 2020, 11:35 PM) Malaysia gg. Even own state own go overseas to invest. Dai la our economy like this To put things into the right perspective. For your information, EPF fund size is almost as large as the total market cap of the entire KLSE, and yes i mean bursa not just the 30 components that made up the index. No action required. You just cannot top up only. You can let it auto-pilot, switch it to another fund or sell it off.

Based on the statement in the app, losing 8%. Switching will incur additional cost therefore I’m contemplating what to do with it. Any expert here to advise? Principal DALI Equity Growth Fund

When EPF freezes a fund, no transactions related to the frozen fund can be conducted
