Hi guys, I’ve recently installed the kwsp I-akaun and found out that my retirement fund is currently suspended and in a loss. 🙁
Am I suppose to switch to another fund or let it be hoping that it will rebound back?

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Jul 15 2020, 02:08 PM) No action required. Based on the statement in the app, losing 8%. Switching will incur additional cost therefore I’m contemplating what to do with it. Any expert here to advise? You just cannot top up only. You can let it auto-pilot, switch it to another fund or sell it off. Principal DALI Equity Growth Fund |

QUOTE(xalim @ Jul 15 2020, 05:19 PM) lowest loss % i got around -25% and right now -0.08% (bounce almost 24.92%) What’s your recommendation for my case? I’m thinking of putting it back to EPF. Might cover back some of the lossessince EPF already suspended those fund , i'm unable to top up on -25% |

QUOTE(xalim @ Jul 16 2020, 12:10 PM) i've no idea. Ok, Now I have a different plan. Might just switch to a different investment. Gonna try “Principal Islamic Lifetime Enhanced Sukuk Fund” which is a low risk fund. for me , better let it be in those fund for the long run. since i'm unable to withdraw it now even though in EPF itself. 🙏 |

QUOTE(Hantulang @ Dec 4 2020, 09:02 AM) Im thinking of applying for the 10% withdrawal of acc 1 (Im qualified under category 1-jobless since Feb) but will soon join a new company in Jan next year. I’m thinking to diversify the 60k to other portfolio but still have no firm idea. Should I: 4) why not epf mis? 0% sales charge, do it yourself using epf online1) just leave it in epf and dont apply for withdrawal and let it compound as usual? 2) Gold? (Hear its on 2 year low now) 3) dump into ASB2 (my asb1 max already with asb financing and some cash) 4) other mutual fund? (Suggestion please) 5) purchase 2nd property? 6) bitcoin ? (Hahah..) 7) others (suggestion please) Thanks all |

QUOTE(TheEquatorian @ Dec 5 2020, 05:37 PM) I’ve been looking more into EPF MIS with all that is going on. I take it you are enrolled in it. Yup, a few months ago and so far it’s good How has it worked? Any suggestions on funds? Would have been earning a lot more if I started even earlier especially if i started end of Mac or earlier April this year. The rebound of most of the good funds are superb. Fsm website shares good recommended funds. You can check out there. Once you selected the funds you are interested, you can share them here. I’m sure many can give advise to you. Most of my funds are based on fsm recommended funds This post has been edited by whirlwind: Dec 5 2020, 10:55 PM |

QUOTE(prophetjul @ Dec 6 2020, 03:31 PM) Nope, I just started a few months agoQUOTE(TheEquatorian @ Dec 6 2020, 04:50 PM) Btw, what is the difference between using FSM and going straight to the fundhouses (Public Mutual etc)? I understood that the sales fee is anyway very low (close to 0) for EPF MIS. You can use fsm to buy nearly all the funds I regardless of the fundhousesAt the moment epf-mis having 0% sales charge till April 2021 next year. |

QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Jan 30 2021, 10:09 PM) There’s many funds that can perform better than epf but as I mentioned now market looks red and if you invest now, are you prepared for the funds to be losing money? I’ve experienced it by investing in gold unit trust when gold price at all time high thinking it will continue to rise but I was wrong, gold price start to plummet and so is the gold unit trust. I panicked and sold it off, worried that I would continue losing money. Lost 6% of its value I’ve learned a valuable lesson. UT investment supposed to be long term, you’ll never predict what’s going to happen in the future. Now my portfolio stands more than +15% after starting to invest more than half a year. By the way, I consider @Grumpy as one of my Sifu and Principal Greater China is indeed one of the good fund This post has been edited by whirlwind: Jan 31 2021, 01:14 AM |

QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Jan 31 2021, 01:14 AM) true. many things to consider. though it may be a good idea to go in when market is red, assuming they will rise again in long term. If you are prepared, next you have to do your homeworkSo many types of funds available If you can take risk, equity UT will give you higher earnings but also higher risk (volatility) Where is your preferred sector allocation? Go check the fund sheet to look at the details. If you think China stock market is good, Principal Greater China 👍 |
