QUOTE(danielmckey @ May 6 2020, 04:45 PM) That was fantastic. Remember those kpop suicide people have more millions in hand? Tomorrow you will never know a robber, stray bullet, accident, heart attack, etc is coming at last minute. It happen to Micheal Schumaker which already rich, nothing can stop the bad luck toward us. #YOLO, cant bring money to afterlife. |

QUOTE(prophetjul @ May 6 2020, 12:01 PM) QUOTE(romuluz777 @ May 6 2020, 12:13 PM) True, RM 1M in the EPF is nothing. By late-30s you should already reach this level if makan gaji. I agree. RM1mil is nothing. I mean it's not easy to touch 1mil by late 30s but it's very possible to reach it at retirement age. Even for people in M40. Not trying to boast but my salary is quite okay compared to the median salary, yet i will only touch 1mil when i'm 34 years old. But i'm not gonna screenshot my epf and post it on the internet though hahahah That is assuming you dont withdraw from it for anything (i.e housing, education, healthcare etc) If my maths is correct, if you earn 5k from age 25, you might touch 1mil at 60. But then again the epf dividend calculation is not that straight forward right? |

QUOTE(wayton @ May 6 2020, 05:02 PM) Money may not be brought afterlife. Excessive savings means nothing if you have enough to live by, esp MCO stay home and your freedom is limited. But with recent MCO or economy recession, it highlights the importance of saving. Whatever YOLO means nothing if next day cannot put food on table. |

QUOTE(Kcee @ May 6 2020, 03:53 PM) 7% increment and 6% return annually and consistently... That's why it sounds easy as a a cake.... But in reality for most forummers, those percentages are numbers to be chased by sacrificing a lot of effort. 7% pa increment depend on individual capability. But I don't think we will be seeing EPF returns of 6% coming in the future for a while. |

If you are in the right profession you can easily hit a million in EPF.
For instance as an airline pilot, a ship captain, chief engineer, offshore platform specialist, a consultant doctor, lawyer, the list goes on. If u are just a regular joe with a run of the mill 9-to-5 job, then its gonna be a wee bit harder. Good luck nevertheless.. |

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ May 6 2020, 06:10 PM) 7% pa increment depend on individual capability. Oh boy... we've been proven wrong time and time again. I don't wanna bet against EPF fund managers and traders already.riskBut I don't think we will be seeing EPF returns of 6% coming in the future for a while. The thing I dislike about EPF is MYR currency risk. |

QUOTE(prophetjul @ May 7 2020, 09:17 AM) Of course. I am pointing that out because there are many millionaires in KWSP. Statistics show less than 18% contributors have min. savings target of $228k. A million RM is not worth much nowadays due to its depreciating value. And the rich will probably not need to contribute. Where did you get the assumption there are many millionaires in EPF? https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...fford-to-retire ![]() |
