if EPF is managed well... without any serious political interference (like force 10k withdrawals or die2 over 70% local exposure only)... then good luck in future....

don't bailout crony or buying up more MGS unnecessarily... more foreign exposure.... and bring the $$$

The reverse is happening...if Green Wave take over, gone case, all money songlapped or wasted to support prince of earth company like Serbok Dynamo.

I see this is eventual destiny of Malaysia.

Just like turkey, hyperinflation but the people still voted the same president. This is the fear of everyone that green wave doesn't know how to manage a country's economy. Imagine the state has the same water issue for duno how many years and contributes almost the least to the GDP. Within 6 months of darurat, how many "leakages" already?

Bailout will happen no matter how πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ it is just that whether by bailing out will they make money in the future because they are buying on the cheap but unlikely since 1998 because the best examples would be the banks that they bailed them out from

Foreign exposure they will have limitation because under the Act the priority already been enforced under it whereby 50% funds has to be in local Fixed Income while now having already at a high for foreign exposure πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Unless you can amend the Act by having a govt which have 70% control in Parliament to change the 50% then you can only dream from now πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Do you think Politicians really care about people πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ All they only care is being in power and lining their own pockets πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ If they do care they would have taken a fixed market based salary and no allowances granted

As a very rough rule of thumb, EPF needs approx RM9b+ to pay for every one per cent of dividend.

based on the news, total investment 1.04tril. and total income = 15.6bil. for 1Q. assuming 4Q=64.4bil approx. 6.00% of total investment (before deducting other costs).

amended...

That would be 64.4/9 ~7% dividend.

Not 104 trillion πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ but 1.04 trillion

If 104trillion all our EPF would have another extra two 00 behind πŸ˜‚

At least Q1 still making money but albeit small due to high weightage on FI but for sure 5% in the bag for 2023 provided no drastic changes in SAA

5% is already guaranteed for 2023 πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ and if the Q2 results is on good trajectory easily will exceed 2022 payout

So be patient and wait for market then but 6% will be tough this year unless the govt is willing to inject money for the payout

At least write down is lower is positive while Bursa dividends won’t be good this year for EPF so you better pray that their Foreign equities will hold up well
