i also hope maxis will upgrade the LTE to all the places in malaysia soon ,

I'm sure it is in project pipeline to ugprade all existing 3G areas to LTE, as long as there is sufficient population and demand in the area. This needs time ...

I regret updating my carrier settings or 6.1.3 because ...

1. New phone batt was so so. At 6.1.2, it was fantastic ...
2. With LTE coverage being limited, my phone is now frequently on Edge instead of 3G in non-LTE areas.

My phone now heats up constantly even when not using the phone. Batt drains like crazy ... worse decision ever.

I'm on iValue Simple Plan.

Works well with LTE around Sri Petaling area. Other than that, all on 3G.

finally managed to get LTE today. iValue Simple plan, location is somewhere near NKVE/PLUS highway, close to sungai buloh side...
never change sim card, same card during launch day, never do any sort of setting etc... just update the carrier setting and that's it.

Battery life for both LTE and 3G should be about the same. It's just that your phone is constantly searching for a stronger signal that makes it consume more battery.

been experiencing this shit in penang but i did not upgrade my iOS...still staying on 6.1 but currently those 3g places also giving me problem of stucking in edge and my phone heats up as well in order to get signals. This also cause noticeable of battery drain since the phone is heating up

hey man ! im facing the same problem as well.
im still on ios6.1.2 but after updating to 14.1 carrier setting, my iphone 5 standby time decreases a lot. last time battery dropped from 100% to 99% took around 5 hrs (standby);
now it takes around 1 hr. doh.gif
very regret updating the carrier setting. even after updating, i still dun get the LTE service as i stay in penang vmad.gif

The only good thing about it is there's no more 'no cellular connectivity' issue, i dun have to reset my phone to get the cellular connection back

This morning before i go to work, i saw my iPhone shows LTE at my house area. But after that it shows again 3G. Is it mean my house area just support LTE from Maxis?

Haha see how clever you are at covering up la that one  laugh.gif

Yeah heard Celcom gonna launch soon, but honestly nothing great la, difference in speed only. Will be really nice for those with high quota package. I used up close to 500 mb in 2 days and all I did was FB, whatsapp, insta, games and the occasional web surf. But my LTE was on all the time though. Luckily I checked otherwise my 2 GB quota would've been wiped out in less than a week.  sweat.gif

Celcom is launching 4G LTE on Monday 21st April, but not support 1800MHz, only 2600MHz. cry.gif

I think they will introduce 2600Mhz spectrum first then after this maybe month later they launch 1800Mhz. Just my guess. They want to penetrate 2600 Mhz market first. That's their main objective actually.

more than 1 device using 2600 Mhz band hence bigger market, after that then they launch 1800mhz with only iPhone supported. That's my guess biggrin.gif
