Just curious .. why LTE used up your dataplan faster compared to 3G?

Let's say you go into a website & downloaded bytes are 2MB under 3G .. how does LTE expand this 2MB size to 4 or 8MB?
Can someone elaborate more so I can understand this theory?

LTE and 3G are speed differences & will drain ur battery .. like Streamyx 1MB vs 4MB .. same source except faster speed. It should not or would not expand/eat your dataplan if you surfing per normal websites .. UNLESS you surf more than usual since it's a faster speed ..

Let me give u a simple scenario. Let say u r watching Youtube video that are about 30 minutes in lenght. While u r on 3G, while watching it is loading. For example, while u r watching at minutes of 4, it has already load up to minutes of 11. Then u closed it cause it was boring. 3G usage = 11 minutes = XX mb. Now in case of LTE, while u r watching at the minutes of 4, it has already load up finished at min of 30! U close at minutes of 4. Now LTE usage = 30 minutes = XXXXX mb.

If u get what I mean.. brows.gif

I was on iValue Simple for the past 3 months. When LTE was launched, I could not "get" LTE despite being in the coverage area.

Then, I upgraded to iValue 1 last Saturday. Managed to hook on to LTE after that (at the same area).

Conclusion: iValue Simple subscribers are unable to enjoy LTE (for the time being, perhaps?).

this is exactly what i mean... thanks for the real life trial and error...
however, i feel somehow not worth... because if earlier i sign up the iValue 1 when i purchasing the phone, i can get more rebate on the phone yawn.gif

if really need LTE, no choice but u've to upgrade your plan d... and whats more? some said LTE drain data by much icon_question.gif with 1GB last for only 1 week, what's the point?

To all maxis Ivalue simple users, your wait for LTE has not been in vain. Finally after many calls to maxis cs and setups, finally I can get LTE on my phone. And to that maxis TTDI cs who told me that Ivalue simple is not eligible for LTE, please get your facts right next time.

Yes, to update you guys, IValue Simple should qualify for LTE. I lodged a complaint on Sat, and this evening can connect to LTE.

Confirmed, my ivalue simple got LTE since this evening at USJ Taipan and USJ 6. Did no complaint to Maxis, no change of sim. Using same old nano sim since iPhone 5 launch day.

Slowly Maxis will add iValue Simple to "allow" LTE access... just a matter of time.
