Maxis replied my tweet saying that my current SIM does not support the LTE function. need to walk in and change the SIM card.

I guess that's the main problem.

ok suddenly me and my colleague got LTE this morning. didn't have to change SIM card at all. I think they are covering it batch by batch somehow rclxub.gif

KLCC no LTE. I look out window, can see Maxis KLCC, but 3G only. doh.gif
Walk into KLCC LG/G/Concourse also 3G only. KLCC KFC deep inside = no signal doh.gif or very very weak.

Let me give u a simple scenario. Let say u r watching Youtube video that are about 30 minutes in lenght. While u r on 3G, while watching it is loading. For example, while u r watching at minutes of 4, it has already load up to minutes of 11. Then u closed it cause it was boring. 3G usage = 11 minutes = XX mb. Now in case of LTE, while u r watching at the minutes of 4, it has already load up finished at min of 30! U close at minutes of 4. Now LTE usage = 30 minutes = XXXXX mb.

If u get what I mean..  brows.gif

so does it mean watching a video of 50mb you will be downloading 50mb of data??
so if we are on a 3gb plan how many of this 50mb you tube videos can we watch??

1. yes.
2. 3000/50=60. Less than 60 as there will be some text and image around the video.

Yes, you'll be surprised, inside the building at my work place, sometimes my 3G drops down to EDGE only. I stand up and look out the window, I can see people walking inside Menara Maxis KLCC. Last time can see people inside the gym also, but the gym moved to avenue K already.

YES, I'm that close to Maxis tower, yet signal is so far !!!

Yes, I got what you mean. Same with my iPhone YouTube app. Another scenario:
If I watch near the end at minute 25, then I scroll the bar back to minute 10. The grey-out bar (which means downloaded) is gone, and the entire video is stream all over again from minute 10 onwards. doh.gif and if the line is slow, the video is jerky / hang again.
Workaround is watch the entire video. Then, click re-play to start watch from minute 0 again. Don't even touch the scroll bar.

Nowadays, that is why I cached all the video first ... and watch using 3rd party apps later.
