Hello people! I'm getting Unifi this Saturday. I have a few questions, I hope you'll take some time to answer them smile.gif

Currently, phone line under dad's name, streamyx under mine. But I've upgraded my streamyx to unifi. So unifi under my name, phone line still under my dad's name.

Dad's number: A
Unifi new number: B

I live in a condo, and as I've been told, they use the same phone wall jack? So how do I go about this? Because currently the wall jack is for number A, where would B go?

Currently, from the wall jack in the hall, there's a splitter in the hall. One goes to the phone in the hall, the other to my room, where the streamyx modem is. I intend on keeping Unifi this way too. Possible?

Thanks smile.gif

ok..u live condo..once the UNIFI tech guy come..1st they come to MDF room (duno betul or not) disconnect ur streamyx and current phone line and connect unifi line..

so on ur phone jack...tht dsl line (mcam adsl modem connect to phone jack) connect to modem like streamyx but since unifi is using VOIP style..so your new phone line mean new number connect to modem given..

simple explain is A no longer use liao
B replace A..

the last part..u mean u wan your router put your room?

Oh.. Because I memang plan to cancel A number. So this means it's a direct replacement?

Yes, as of now, the phone is in the hall and streamyx modem/router in my room. I split the connection after the wall jack.
Can I do the same with Unifi?

coz condo different with landed house..
landed can use both line which is streamyx and unifi
but our condo cannot..oni can use one line either streamyx or unifi
once u install your unifi..i suggest u go nearest TM Point tell them i wan cancel streamyx due i already upgrade to unifi..no charge at all..

so u want put ur phone and modem on living room and router place at ur room rite?
if u got budget buy twin pack homeplug without so trouble pull lan cable from living room to your room right

But I already have the cables laid out from the old Streamyx lol

And they're concealed, so not an issue.

Hi all,

Looking for wifi router to replace the DIR615 Wifi router..my concern is reliable, heavy duty(can handle heavy load of traffic) and wifi signal strong enough for 15meters range..

I'm looking for a wifi router that can completely replace the router..as I need to use for IPTV as well..

ASUS RT-N15U seems not bad for the price..RM199..

Can I know this model can support Unifi without custom firmware? hmm.gif
