depends do you need the speed or not.
LAN cable offers the best latency and speed among all other solutions.

But if you dont need the speed, home plug offers the most elegant (no wires running all over) solution.

Latency is the one that I'm most concern at. I guess there's no other alternative then.

btw, are there any ''service disruption" announcements from TM recently?

Hey guys. I'm currently using 1mpbs streamyx and can no longer live with such slow speeds, so i'd like to upgrade to fibre soon. Now my questions is which should I choose? Should i go for UniFi or Maxis Home Fibre?

Can you please list down the pros v cons of the two?

From what I know or understand so far, maxis home fibre seems to be the better deal because it's 148/month for 10mpbs while unifi is 149/month for 5mpbs?

I'd also like further info;
1)whether installation service, etc is free or charged
2)which is more stable? i seen people complaining about unifi being slow while I also see people saying that maxis fibre doesn't allow torrent or p2p.. and then there are people saying that maxis home fibre ping is high? Is this true? as I often play online games and this would be bad right?
3)does unifi or maxis home fibre cap torrent speeds?
4)and what about add-ons like for example unifi got the hypp thingy.. I tried reading it myself on the web but I don't really understand it :s

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I have came across TIME also.. It seems TIME kills off unifi and maxis home fibre without a doubt.. 100mbps @ rm180/month(100gb quota) or minimum is 8mbps @ rm130/month(unlimited, not even a "until furthre notice" it's just plain unlimited) .. anyone have any say on this? Hmm..

Right now. if Unifi vs Maxis. I most prob will go for unifi although it's half the speed of Maxis at the same price.. But I rather for stability as im a gamer, and maxis having high ping problems is definitely a no-no for me.. and also reports that maxis throttle at peak hours.. So if this 2 i will definitely go for unifi... Until I came across Time just now

8mbps @ 130 only....

or the best they have 100mbps @ 180 a month..... Really drool.gif drool.gif

Now I waiting for them to reply whether my location is covered(right now their coverage very very limited)
If I am covered then I will consider Time, if not, definitely UniFi for me then.. icon_rolleyes.gif

1. This service is a 24- month contract and a termination fee of RM500 is chargeable for termination of service within the contract period.

Sup all, just need to confirm something on this . If i want to terminate my account , i just need to pay RM500 only ? not RM500 + (months left in contract) ? Sadly i have to move out from my rental house. Thanks in advance. icon_question.gif

Yes, you'll have to pay RM 500, as well as outstanding bills (if any)
QUOTE
The minimum subscription period (or contract period) for UniFi is 24 months from the date the service is activated. If the service is terminated before the 24 month period is over, customers have to pay a termination penalty of RM 500 which will be reflected in the final account bill.

I believe only 500. If you new place got no unifi coverage I think can terminate without any penalty. Try contact TM to confirm..
