Is it possible to put the IPTV decoder in the living room and the modem in my room?

any switch can do. no need fancy stuff

My fiber modem,router,PC is at 1st floor; my ps3, media player and iptv is at ground floor.
Since I don't want to hack wall to install new network cable, I bought 2 Vlan capable manage switches and a set of homeplugs that support vlan signal to deliver the signal(VLAN 600 and VLAN 1) from 1st floor to ground floor. 
Works fine for long time already.

The pro
VLAN switches allows me to use any router I want.
No need to hack wall.
All your devices are wired. You can make wireless on seperate vlan for better security.

The cons:
More device to take care.
More $ spend. The cheapest VLAN capable switches costs about rm250. (Microtik RB250GS)

u need to go to TMPoint if u decide to terminate your platinum pack...if go through OCC,u need to replace it with another new package...marketing maaa 

Playing multiplayer online games better dont torrent. No matter how good ur router or qos, u will still have high ping.

Your contract won't reset should you upgrade your package, it will just continue on. On the other hand, there'll be penalty if you downgrade before your contract is over.

Can the UniFi package be upgraded / downgraded?

Call them up this morning and upgraded to VIP10 with discount liao. New speed wIll be effective tomorrow but will check tonight if TM is efficient and get it done already.

I just called and as mentioned above there are 2 options.

1. Upgrade to 10M + HyppTV pack either a)platinum, b)ruby or c)Sport, pay only RM199 (RM30 discount)
2. Upgrade to 10M only with RM20 discount.

However there is a condition that I cannot accept here.  If you are already is a 5M + Platinum subcriber(RM149+RM30).  You cannot terminate the Platinum 1 year contract.  This means you are not allow to upgrade to option 1 (10M + platinum) and pay RM199.  You much upgrade to 10M + either Ruby or Sport + you current existing Platinum package, this end up to RM199+RM30.  I find this is very stupid where TM is not able to terminate the Platinum contract and allow the customer to upgrade to 10M+Platinum where you can get additional RM20 revenue.  It does not make sense to me to pay extra Ruby or Sport if I do not need it.
So I will not take up the promotion.

How about those who only got a few months before their contract ends? It's obvious when you upgrade your speed you have to renew your contract again, correct?

Those people have to think twice before accepting it.

My Platinum pack contract already ended. But i still able to view the pack, but still paying the RM30 everymonth.

I think i have to terminate the current platinum pack and able to get the promotion upgrade deal. You think so?
