12k- 14k for a complete sl4 bike would be very tempting. Going for Sworks frame will make me spending a 10k and have to buy other things to make it a complete ridable bike which will roughly costs me another 8-10k.

I have the budget for Sworks but I know it won't make me a better rider. i think i will settle for the normal sl4..then I'll have extra cash for a nice set of wheels.

And vin Ann won't be chasing my ass on any hills cos he only see me as a cheapo mediocre rider tongue.gif

watever yanks your chain man... jus be sure you dun succumb to your impulse on the day itself and pull the wrong trigger....

maybe only if you ride a lerun would vinann not consider challenging you...

he even takes kids on a tricycle as a potential challenger...

i bet people will think you are crazy if you ask for water with low osmolality...

Interesting,,,,,stacking water

If its low solute of contaminants other then H2O isnt that the process of filtration ?

I have read similar 'serious' studies in the late 80s both in cycling/athletics, and quack studies in the late 90s which cured cancer among other things, the same product resurfaced under a different name some years ago for the life of me I cannot recall its name. Malaysia is a wonderland for stuff that dont work.

Everyone is doing this doing that and setting PRs.....my bike is in pieces, for a lack of a better excuse......no time.

Haha I know. I might be planning on something but impulses decided everything on that day for sure! Like when I decided to get a Merida race lite, I ended up with the Scultura model tongue.gif

Wait ahh later I post up here. Perhaps I can invite vin Ann for a spin at genting sempah and later read his blog how he smoked me and my brand new Sworks

No, H2O is too pure... they must have a certain amount of solute to make it low osmolality... because that is their selling point..."LOW OSMOLALITY"

it's like the virgin that is too virgin.... they wanted a virgin that appears a virgin yet is sleazy deep down under...

my way of seeing it..

or H2O is too mainstream in Miao's words..

why do they have to complicate things even as simple as drinking water??? WTH is wrong with this world???

jus dun get over your head OK.. this is not a race lite going to scultura.. this is an expensive bike going towards bankrupt

vin_ann don't take invites lightly... he takes it as an insult like he is being challenged... in his world, only he can challenge people but not the other way round...

Thanks for the advice. Weird lah why they don't carry the pro model..why stop at expert model? Haihs..below article seems modest on not getting the sworks. First he is not paid by specialized. Second the writer is at least a frequent racer and much more serious rider than me casual rider. If he can settle for less, why wouldn't I?

I have one merida myself. No need another one.

I have read almost every review on sl4 I could find on the net or magazine. To spent such amount of money on a bicycle really need a lot of justifications, within myself sweat.gif

I'm not some of the rich guy who simply buy stuffs without knowing what are the advantages I'll get..i've a friend who will buy anything that he deemed superior and top class and then clouded his mind that he sees improvement on his performance. Kinda of placebo effect. To each his own wink.gif

Ok I have a question on energy consumption for us cyclist. Let say, I can hold an avg speed of 32kmh-35kmh for 100km as a proven baseline. I bonked at 100km, hitting the wall, no energy left even to draft someone. Just pedalling to reach the finish line. Then on the following week while maintaining the same avg speed, I bonked at 80km. Is it because of my calorie intake prior to the 100km ride is not the same? How to prolong the energy before I get bonk? Eating on the bike will help? Can I eat like mad 1 week before the 100km ride and ride so damn hard to allow me to go faster even after completing the 100km?

honestly i have no idea. i bonked once. i mean, the real bonk. that was because i didn't have enough mileage (weak base). i try not to think too much. i eat as how a glutton would. i always believe that bonking is due to weak base and improper hydration during the ride. energy, i have lots of it in my reserve.
