dafuq happened to my tyres! yesterday, noticed some tiny sidewall cuts in both front n rear tyres. once pumped to full pressure, the cuts expanded a bit. just small cuts, but scared to take the risk. there goes rm300.....

you have to get it straight... pros expends a lot of their energy daily (rumored up to 9000kcals a day, easily more than 10 big mac meals) and their caloric consumption increases due to this... they require that much intake primarily for 2 reasons... speed up recovery for the next day (since injections of vitamins and any other legal drips are now prohibited) and to stock up fuel for the next day...

for us... we just do it to let our bodies digest, process and convert this calories and sugar into glycogen stores as the process of converting whatever you intake is well a process itself which puts a toll on your body... which is why you see the advises to do heavy carbo load the night before with enough time for it to be digested so your body can rest and use it for recovery during rest period and not hours before the race...

hours before the race, you just take on things that are easy to digest and absorb by your body so you don't start wearing yourself out even before a race begins...and the energy kick in is much faster...

furthermore, as i said... it ain't just as simple as energy in a ride... it is about knowing how to ration your efforts... there is no point going all out in the first half of the race and than killing yourself trying to complete the 2nd half... even tour riders especially team captains require domestiques to pull them up the first couple of mountain passes and act as a launch pad for their last attack up the last ascent of the day...in that sense, they save themselves until the very last critical moment and utilize all they have in that critical short period of time...

we are not salesman... we don't know what you ride and what you need... both is the top end bikes from spez and both are tailor made for their respective fields or in other words, best in what they do.... there is no point for the US to give a fighter pilot a lockheed martin F-117A stealth fighter to head into a combatzone dogfight while they give another pilot an F18 to head to Afghanistan for a stealth bombing mission run right? if you get what i mean..

there is no which is better than which? the venge is obviously better than the tarmac on flats with heavy wind and the tarmac is better than the venge when it comes to the point of a climb...

so, only you know yourself what you need and you select base on that... if we bull crap you on which to buy... doesn't that make us the same as bike shop salesman who is trying to influence your decision to buy whatever that makes them most money?
