Sunday morning...nothing to do...fitting time to write my 2nd Huawei testimonial..

So, I've join Huawei for almost 2 years already. I'm previously a Datacom Engineer (MRO) and currently working as Enterprise Network Engineer (MRO).

I'll talk about job as Datacom engineer first. Working hours has been stable recently (can go back at 6-7pm), compared to previously 9-11pm. But the job is riskier than ever due to the network is already up and closely monitored by customer (do any stupid mistakes, customer will file a complain letter to your boss!!). Anyways, if any of you join MRO, doesn't mean you won't have a chance to travel abroad. I've been to Brunei for about 2 months to implement their Metro-E network, and my colleagues have been to Australia & Laos.

My ex-boss and colleagues are all very helpful. When I first join, I don't know anything about networking because I am from Electronic course in university days. They patiently teach me and I have gotten my CCNA and CCNP certificate working towards my CCIE. I believe that you can't get any better hands-on experience outside compared to Huawei. I have learn many things and given many opportunities compared to my coursemates who joined other network vendor companies (shall not be named!!). But I guess you all know by now, Huawei is a China-based company....so it's quite "kedekut" la, don't expect a lot of bonus and increment. It's a great place to learn and don't worry if you don't have any networking skills, you will learn while you're there.

My ex-boss once said, he only look for staff who he thinks is hardworking and willing to learn, if he want to find those people who is hardworking, willing to learn and have networking skill, it will probably take him months to find. (haha, tip for those going to interview  smile.gif ). All in all, while the company itself is @#%@#%, the people in it are great, and if I am given a chance to do it all over again, I'll still choose Huawei.

So, I have transferred to Enterprise department (3 months already). Things here are more relaxing than Telco department. I get to travel to Singapore and Australia  brows.gif Nothing much to say here yet, there is currently only 2 IP engineers here. Current boss is looking for more engineers actually, but he always reject the ones that I recommended  cry.gif . Maybe this boss has higher expectation than my previous boss...

Anyways, enough for my personal blog!!  sweat.gif  Good luck for those going for interviews  thumbup.gif

P/S: If you heard the Etiqa office is moving next month, don't believe them  sweat.gif    the IT department not yet finish set up the office network, CCTV also belum pasang, how to move in wor..most likely its 2-3 months time, not next month

Sounds like you love Huawei so far~~
How's the pay and workload? How would you rate them with a score from 1 to 10? 10 being best.

I don't know about the people above, but my experience with Huawei colleagues/boss (not the company) is pretty good. Mind you, I am a Chinese, but I am what they call a "banana" sweat.gif

If you want to compare pay-to-workload ratio...I'll probably give it 3/10. The pay is not as good as other MNC companies out there, but the experience value here is a lot better (I have a few friends and ex-colleagues in HP/Ericsson/Juniper/Dimension Data/Measat and all of them gave the same comment).

Hi all,

I just got an interview at ETIQA building for the position of BILLING ASSOCIATE.

May I know if anyone knows about how the job scope is like?

Does it require much travelling?

Many Thanks!

Basically u'll have chance to travel to any countries in the world if u r in GSRC department. Curently HW having big project in Indonesia and Philippines, as well as Brazil. If you r fresh grade, most probably there'll send you to these countries at a start.
