7. 3% Quarterly Cash Rebate
Enjoy 3% quarterly cash rebate on total retail transactions outside WATAMI with accumulate spend of
RM3,000 per quarter. The accumulated spend amount is inclusive of Supplementary Card spending. Rebate is
capped at RM150 per quarter and rebate will be credited into the Principal Card account.

For example, Principal Card approved on 15/11/12.

1st quarter = 15-11-12 until 14-02-13 (3 months).
2nd quarter = 15-02-12 until 14-05-13.

8. Double Bonus Point
Earn double bonus points when you spend in all WATAMI Japanese Casual Restaurants locally and overseas
retail spend. For all other retail spend, you will earn one (1) bonus point for every RM1 charged to your card.
No bonus point will be issued for all petrol and cash advance transactions.

9. 500 Bonus Points Upon Approval
You will be rewarded with 500 Bonus Points upon card approval. Accumulated points can be used for redemption
of gifts or vouchers from the AEON rewards redemption catalogue.

10. Annual Fee Waiver
First year annual fee for Principal Card is automatically waived. For subsequent years, the annual fee will be
waived when you spend at least 12 times per year.

11. Supplementary Card
Free annual fee waiver for life for up to 3 supplementary cards. No minimum transactions required to qualify for
the fee waiver.

12. RM 50 Cash Rebate for Principal Card and RM25 for Supplementary Card
The cash rebate will be credited into the Principal and Supplementary Card account with any 2 retail transactions

WATAMI is a New CC issued by AEON Credit Service.... I guess the benefit for WATAMI co-branded only.

Only for 6month for free. No additional payment or whatsoever. The only reason I maintain this card for few years because of their AEON voucher and BT.

the 3% CB for RM3000 in 3 months = CB of 90 is actually very good. Especially if payment like insurance usually no good rebate from any bank.
Insurance payment RM5000 can get BC RM150 damn good!

The CS i spoke to, told me even insurance payment also considered, any retails purchases even outside Aeon also can.. but he didnt sound like he knows his fact well. JUst keep asking around and i am abit unsure if he is indeed correct.

waiting for more confirmation, if indeed true 3% for any other expenses sure must apply.
Still it is a free card, can apply first want to use or not later decide......

AEON Customer Service is very blur sotong...seriously need to buck up.

No charges for AEON Credit Card Bill Payment via Maybank2U.com BUT AEON charges RM1 as fee.

Applied since 12th, until today still 'under process'. Walao!

Based on my latest statement for New Aeon Gold Visa Card:
Spend@Aeon=rm41.95 (this should earn 41pts)
BT monthly payment =rm1490 (this should earn 745pts per month)
Points earned=776 (should be 41+745=786)
Bonus Point earned=1000 (don't know how this is earned)

Fot the BT points, it will be Rm1 to 1 point and it will give as per ur monthly payment amount.
If total BT is rm 1490, you will get 1490/6 = 250 points per month.

Bonus Point earned probably fore-Statement conversion.
I also received 1000 Bonus Points in my first statement (also first e-Statement)

Aiya.. fail liao. I thought this card can use for my insurance cash back but it requires a minimum amount of 3k spending a quarter, else no cashback at all

Wah. The WATAMI card annual fee only RM30. I think its one of the lowest I've seen.

Stated in the CC statement:
Retail spending at AEON Stores rm1=1 Aeon card point
Retail spending at other merchants rm2=1 Aeon card point.

I just applied for the AEON Watami Visa Classic Card at AEON Credit (1 Utama). The person told me I will get separate Credit Limit for each of AEON CC. Since this is Classic card, would I get a lower CL than the Gold card

Guys, does online transactions counts for retail transactions?
If so, this card would serve to replace my OCBC.

My MBB Amex handles mainly telcos
My OCBC handles mainly dining and petrol and other general online transactions

I was planning to take up the Wise to handle telcos, dining and petrol
And this Watami card to handle all other transactions, especially online transactions (except weekend transactions which I will still use my Amex)

EDIT: How about paypal? Will linking this watami card to paypal allows the 3%? If it does, that would be great

I'm interested to get the WATAMI card just for the "3% Quarterly Cash Rebate".
After going through this thread twice and checking on the official sites, got a few questions hope you could help.

1. Does the post above apply to WATAMI cc?
2. What do you mean by "Bill Payment via Maybank2U.com"? Do you mean:
(A) You pay AEON cc statement from your fund/acct in MBB via maybank2u; or
(B) You add AEON cc into m2u and use it to pay other bills (e.g. Telekom bill)
3. Saw on the AEON site, it says can pay WATAMI cc statement via maybank2u, is it via IBG > Transfer; or Bill Payment > Payee?
(Since AEON is not a bank, and I found the following in the maybank2u. So it can be paid like a bill?)

From Maybank2U you pay AEON credit card bills like any TNB/Astro/.. No charge from Maybank but AEON will deduct RM1.
Eg. If your CC bill is RM100, you need to pay RM101 @ Maybank2U.

I see. So you use the payee named "AEON Credit Service (M) Bhd" to pay for AEON cc? So, cost RM1 each month settling the cc bill.
I presume AEON online allow paying bill and check unbilled transactions. Correct me if I am wrong. (Not an AEON customer currently.)

Just talked to one of the Aeon credit customer service over the phone. According to her insurance payment & paypal transaction are not qualify for 3% cash back. Wonder how true is that

RM50 GST offset for New Cards need to be manually requested once you fulfilled the requirement of 3 swipes. Please call in to put in the request.

Hi Ronnie, just applied the WATAMI from Sunway Pyramid branch. Ya, the guy attended to my application don't know much about it. And keep saying it is too new.
As per the brochure, it says 2 swipes within 60 days will get RM50 credited into acct.
Are you referring to AEON card or the WATAMI?

I believe the SOP is to request for the GST Offset once you accomplished the required swipes. I will call again on Monday to question them on the GST Offset.

AEON don't response to enquiry that fast also... Can't they hire better equipped CS ??? AEON is a Japanese based co., right?

Retail Spending (Transaction) = All Purchases of Goods or Services (including all the Billing, Insurance, Quit Rent, Assessment Fee...) Charged to the Credit Card
But, NOT Includes : all Cash Advances, Balance Transfer, Instalment Payment Plan, other Credit Plan, Annual Fee & Charges...

AEON SMS Transaction alert is for retail swipe of RM500 and above and any amount for Internet transactions.
We can't made any amendments.

just got my watami card this afternoon. was told that need to call AEON credit service if want to make paypal transaction

Don't know why the aeon outlet misplace my application as they didn't receive ny when I called CS

Each time need to make PayPal or one-time affair ?

Each time use paypal need to call them

The forex convesion rate is high (baesd on the sms that I received)
US$43.99 = RM140.88
US$15.90 = RM50.92

$-RM conversion rate for Aeon credit is about 3.203
Visa $-RM conversion rate today is only 3.090

Charges are about 3.6%!!! (MBB2 Amex only 2.5%)

Wonder if auto debit/standing instruction to pay insurance every month falls into the 3% category or not?

But there is an item named service tax which cost rm50 in the statement..is dis GST?or is it some other tax which i was not told earlier?coz from wut i knoe,annual fees for 1st year is waived..anyone can share some info with me?tq.

YES, $50 was GST of the Credit Card...
The GST (Government Sales & Service Tax) can NOT Waive by the Bank, it is collected by the government and the banks enforce it on behalf of the government, so Your have to Pay it

if you available balance only has RM1,000, then its a no.

To readers / members

We have extensively discussed about GST for several years now and many times the debate went into overdrive mode for the wrong terminology used often popularised by overzealous/uninformed/misinformed agents.

GST is to be paid by all cardholders to the government and the banks merely acts as a collector on behalf of the government. It cannot be waived as how can be bank waive something which is not charged by them? Annual Fees/AF might be waived.

To note ... such incorrect/misrepresentation/confusing/etc remarks about GST are not welcomed in any parts of the credit card section. I respect everyone's intelligence but there will always be those confused souls who don't understand or those who don't have any respect for the correct terminology to be used (whatever the reason is) - for everyone's benefit this is applied across the board. Everyone ... please be informed.

I'm posting this note as perhaps it has never been mentioned in this particular thread so I'm giving a stern (and the only) warning to all about such attitude/discusion about GST. Posts/quotes/etc containing such discussion/mention will be deleted without prejudice nor any further warning/reason will be provided.

This happened to me 2 mths back. Sent my application through one their branch. After 1 mth, they stil didn't received my application, they loss my documents!!! On my 2nd try only i got my Aeon CC.... Sigh.., terrible service!!!

Very disappointed with AEON credit ... hopefully someone from that organization looks at this blog and use this information as a constructive feedback from users ....

Applied their credit card (went personally to their Aeon credit office end of Jan 2013), gave them IC and all required documents .. they make copies and checked thru and confirmed that everything is inplaced for the application. Then 5 hrs later received call from them requesting to go back to their office and have IC photocopy again (saying have to be separated from Jusco card). Then on 14 Feb, called and found out that their headoffice did not receive the application. Made a few phone calls and then finally they got the application but again ask to send IC softcopy to them again (sent them via email). Then 2 days later, received call again .. same issue. What is surprising is that when we called their card center, they told us that the application was cancelled even before they request for softcopy .... really a waste of time and effect for the extra 3% cashback ...

You should apply at AEON Store in 1Utama or Midvalley

Been to AEON 1U, they can't properly answer about this question also. Now I wonder, how accurate is tis statement ya? Can some body double confirm? Yet about earlier question as well, hope auto debit count. Card applied.

I Read this from Credit Card Terms & Conditions Booklet when the Bank sent It out together with the New Credit Card...

I can Earn Reward Points from Citibank CC with Auto Debit my Uni Asia Insurance Billing
I also get Cash Rebate from HSBC Amanah Card every month with my Auto Debit Etiqa Insurance
& One more I can get Points from Citibank CC even Top-up my Digi Pre-paid at their Online Banking website

Just collected my Watami card from Aeon Sunway Pyramid. The staff said I am the first card holder in the branch. Seems not popular yet.

As the 3% quarterly CB is based on card approval date, so I asked for mine. The staff said 3rd Feb. But that was the date I submit my application in that branch. Not sure if it is correct or not. Anyone can share their experience?

I went home and registered my Aeon online access, but was disappointed to find out the Aeon portal doesn't support bill payment.
Added it into Maybank2u, it is pending processing now. Not sure how long it will take.
Hope can use it to pay for my insurance via m2u.

Hi ronnie, this Aeon reward points thingie is really giving me a good spin of my head...
Appreciate if you could give a few pointers and see if my understandings (after reading all around) are correct.

1. My understaing on the point systems used by AEON
(a) AEON MEMBER Point (AMP)
- I found some inconsistency of term used within Aeon materials, like "AEON Point", "Gift Point", I will use AMP for short.
- Collect via Aeon Member card (J-Card)
- Each RM1 spent in AEON store get 1 AMP.
- Redeem AMP as per AEON gift redemption booklet

(b) Reward Point (RP)
- I found some inconsistency of term used as well, like "AEON Point", "AEON Card Point", "Reward Point", I will use RP for short.
- Collect via Aeon Credit Card
- Each RM1 posted in AEON CC acct get 1 RP (for usage in Watami, RM1 get 2 RP)
- Conversion from RP to AMP = 1:0.25

2. My findings on points values used by AEON:
(a) AEON Gift Redemption booklet (I presume it use AMP, though it just says "points")
- AEON RM5 Gift Voucher requires 800 AMP
- AEON RM10 Gift Voucher requires 1500 AMP
- AEON RM20 Gift Voucher requires 2500 AMP
(b) Watami card privileges booklet
- RM1 spent = 1 RP; RM30 voucher requires 7500 RP. (Not sure what basis it uses.)

- RM1 spent = 1 RP; If use RP to AMP conversion ration 1:0.25, it translates to:
-> AEON RM5 Gift Voucher requires 3200 RP
-> AEON RM10 Gift Voucher requires 6000 RP
-> AEON RM20 Gift Voucher requires 10000 RP

3. I only hold Aeon Watami card, no J-Card/AEOM MEMBER card. (I have read this thread as well.) Watami card does give 500 bonus points upon card approval. Were your posts above refer to this? You have to link them I suppose. Did you request for transfer or auto? Did they do the conversion of 1:0.25? 500 RP became 125 AMP?

4. If shopping in AEON General Merchandise Store (GMS), I thought of the following payment options:
(a) Pay by cash + swipe AEON MEMBER Card ===> collects AMP
(b) Pay by any CC + swipe AEON MEMBER Card ===> collect AMP, cc points, cc cash rebates (if applicable)
© Pay by MBB2C Amex CC + swipe AEON MEMBER Card ===> collect AMP, MBB 5x TP, MBM2C weekend 5% CB (if applicable)
(d) Pay by AEON Watami CC + swipe AEON MEMBER Card ===> collect AMP, collect RP (Is this possible??)
(e) Pay by AEON Watami Amex CC ===> collect RP

5. If RP to AMP conversion is true and 4.(d) is not possible, using AEON CC alone is a real . Option 4.(a/b/c) is anytime better.

When using NEW AEON MasterCard/Visa at AEON stores, you still need to swipe your AEON MEMBER Card (aka J-Card).

I re-read AEON material over and over again and figure they are best to be kept separated.
I saw both point systems are redeemable to AEON Gift Voucher.

So you are saying I can collect both points by giving both cards (Watami Visa and AEON MEMBER card) for a single purchase?
Hmm, that is not bad. Combining both, it will give 1.2% of total rebates for purchases in AEON GMS!
- AEON MEMBER Point : 2500 pt for RM20 AEON Gift Voucher ==> RM20/RM2500 = 0.8% rebates
- AEON CREDIT Point : 7500 pt for RM30 AEON Gift Voucher ==> RM30/RM7500 = 0.4% rebates
Anyway, most CC will yield minimally 0.5% equivalent rebates. With MBB2 Amex it gives 5%+2.5%+0.8%=8.3% equivalent rebates on weekend.

Coming back to Watami, I'll use it for the 3% quarterly rebates. With this extra, it gives 3.4% rebates. Cool!

But it stated fail because the card number is invalid.
