I found the AEON WATAMI VISA Classic Card to be very interesting for this part

3% Cash Rebate is even higher than 5X TreatsPoints offer by Maybankard....
Minimum RM3000 per quarter.
Maximum RM5000 per quarter.

For new AEON WATAMI VISA Classic Card applications you can get:-

  • Enjoy free dessert voucher upon application
  • Enjoy RM 50 WATAMI Dining Rebate *
  • Rewarded with 500 Bonus Points upon card approval
  • RM 50 Cash Rebate for Principal Card and RM25 for Supplementary Card *
* with any 2 retail transactions of any amount charged to the card within 60 days from card approval date
*
Thanks for the update, Ronnie!
Just went to AEON and applied!

the 3% CB for RM3000 in 3 months = CB of 90 is actually very good. Especially if  payment like insurance usually no good rebate from any bank.
Insurance payment RM5000 can get BC RM150 damn good!

The CS i spoke to, told me even insurance payment also considered, any retails purchases even outside Aeon also can.. but he didnt sound like he knows his fact well. JUst keep asking around and i am abit unsure if he is indeed correct.

waiting for more confirmation, if indeed true 3% for any other expenses sure must apply.
Still it is a free card, can apply first want to use or not later decide......
*
Applied since 12th, until today still 'under process'. Walao!

just called CS to check my BT application status. The CS asked me to call Maybank and check whether it is approved or not. WTF is happening to this company??
*
They did the same to me. Ding dong between maybank and AEON Credit Service.

Some more gave me a courier reference number said the cheque has been dispatched. When I looked up the waybill reference, it was a courier last year to god knows where.

Conclusion: there is no one who knows your BT application status. Fullstop.

I did not receive the free voucher upon application as the branch has no idea about it. I made a call to CS and according to her, usually it will be given upon approval. I know that is not true based on feedback here. Anyway, I will wait for the approval status first.
*
Same case as mine.

Maybe I was lucky - when I went to Watami @1U, innocently I asked them why I wasn't given the voucher, they just gave me one on the spot. So, I utilized it there and then. smile.gif

I'm convinced! Will cancel my OCBC Titanium and swtich to this card for my insurance payments!

Wise move!
I have been paying insurances using this card since it was launched. Attaining 3K for insurance is not very difficult.

You are absolutely right... the Visa/MasterCard/AMEX/Diners/JCB/UnionPay/.. logo is most important, compared to the bank's logo.

That's why some "ignorant" users prefer HSBC (world's local bank, konon) or Citibank or Standard Chartered Bank issued Credit Cards.
*
Yup! The bank only matters when it comes to 'authorization' of the transaction (approve/decline).

So, if you asked me, the bank's credit card system needs to have high availability link to the visa/mastercard hub. If the system of the bank is down, the transaction will not be authorized and fails. If the limit is over spent, it will be declined.

In conclusion, it's how well the 'High Availability' the bank that matters.

Just my 2 sen.

What you can do is to wait at the Petrol Station and approach those people paying cash.

Encik / Puan, tak payah guna cash, encik Bayar saya cash, saya guna Credit Card saya.

Setiap RM50, saya bagi discount RM1

U still make 3% free money....
*
Usually petrol transactions done more than once at the same station within the same day will likely to get declined due to suspicion of fraud. So this probably won't work. biggrin.gif

My GST (for principal & supplementary) was charged on February statement.
I called in to get a GST offset request on 13 Feb 2014.
In the March statement, I receive both GST offset creditted.
Kudos to AEON Credit !!!!
*
I see from my statement for March, they rebate RM50 for the GST, too!
