Haha.. Sorry for the confusion. The amount I posted was per month, did miss out the "pr yr"
Was paying 200 per month hence 2.4k for medical/life (in the annual statement said not full 2.4k in medical so I can't claim all on my tax, so considering top up after research on LYN)
and 3600 per annual (current pay by annual but if getting this watami card will recalculate see if quarterly payment cost me more than the rebate)

Also plan to invest 500-1k per month for this HLB "ever gain", which smth like buying fund at a certain price and promise when maturity pay at peak price in history of their price and free 6+years life insurance.

But still wonder is this consider fund or insurance or retail spending ? Anyone Please help clarify ? Thanks in advance~

Hello guys. I wanna ask regarding Aeow New Visa Card. Is it worth to apply the new version of the credit card? Please advice. Seems good to spend at Aeon merchants.

Honestly, I don't know what category this would fall under, but, from my own personal experience, I'd say don't mix up your insurance and investments in the same vehicle.
Insurance companies are good at what they do, and so are investment companies, but I wouldn't trust either of them to do both.
Make sure that you are adequately and properly insured, then educate yourself in financial knowledge and do your investments yourself, separately.
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the advise. Will survey and upgrade my knowledge more on this and share among others the next time.

Thanks for clarification.

few months back, was thinking to get watami card to cover high-spending, e.g. takaful or electronics. too bad, my sporadic high-spending doesnt justify the need to get any new card sweat.gif

earlier this month 3-May, i renewed my etiqa takaful (rm1.4k) with mbb2card amex. maxed out my rm50 cb in 1 day doh.gif

since i dont have other cards (intentional), now my weekend spend is just gaining TP "fumes" laugh.gif laugh.gif today is Wesak, i need to meditate hard from spending throughout this whole month (except petrol). haizzzzz.....

Is yours motortakaful or life insurance? I heard motortakaful can pay on weekend; but not etiqa life insurance.
Before using Watami cc, I used to pay my etiqa life insurance using Amex (only on weekday) and get 5x TP (~2.5%) initially and then 2x TP (~0.8%) after they revised down. doh.gif
Now it is on autodebit to watami, 3% CB no hassle, no fuss... (until there is a higher CB card) laugh.gif

Mine was motortakaful.

Even if I get watami card, my annual one-time charge for motortakaful/life insurance won't meet the 3k/quarter requirements. My monthly spending adequately covered by mbb2card amex, so it's still OK for me nonetheless smile.gif

Life insurance. Onetime annual charge. Around october-november (couldn't remember) to renew. I will still miss the quarterly min spend anyway.

Need min 3k/quarter to qualify cashback. My monthly spending is <1k/month and adequately-covered with amex, so no point to spend even more. Spend less is better than chasing cashback.

i agree. it doesn't justify spending money just to get 3/5/6% cashback UNLESS you are going to spend the money anyway. consumers shouldn't be penny wise pound foolish.

do u mean if u use the watami card at places that don't accept amex along with your insurance charged to it, you still not able to hit 3k in 3 months ?

if his annual insurance all due at the same quarter, then it's still difficult for him to achieve every quarter.
