nowadays, no more birthday voucher rm30 but birthday rebate rm30 instead? if rebate, means it will use up the rm150 quarterly max cb right?
*
Logically, quarterly cb rebate is for your card spending. Birthday rebate is complimentary to you, even without any spending. By right, should be 150 + 30 smile.gif

Compare to rm30 voucher, actual rm30 rebate is better wink.gif

if it's rm150+rm30, then rm30 rebate is better.
but if it's rm150-rm30, then rm30 voucher is better.

1,000 cardmembers to takeup RM15K allocation (RM15/card)

any extra cardmembers "gained" after 1,000 due to surging in transactions (hoping to get the 5%cashback) are basically "paying" the commission -> Aeon -> 1,000 cardmembers.

obviously, aeon want to break-even, so they dont have to fork out money to pay the 1,000 eligible customers.

I got 3% CB for my Etiqa Takaful plan as well. This cc give the highest CB % so far for this category.

few months back, was thinking to get watami card to cover high-spending, e.g. takaful or electronics. too bad, my sporadic high-spending doesnt justify the need to get any new card sweat.gif

earlier this month 3-May, i renewed my etiqa takaful (rm1.4k) with mbb2card amex. maxed out my rm50 cb in 1 day doh.gif

since i dont have other cards (intentional), now my weekend spend is just gaining TP "fumes" laugh.gif laugh.gif today is Wesak, i need to meditate hard from spending throughout this whole month (except petrol). haizzzzz.....

Is yours motortakaful or life insurance? I heard motortakaful can pay on weekend; but not etiqa life insurance.
Before using Watami cc, I used to pay my etiqa life insurance using Amex (only on weekday) and get 5x TP (~2.5%) initially and then 2x TP (~0.8%) after they revised down.  doh.gif
Now it is on autodebit to watami, 3% CB no hassle, no fuss... (until there is a higher CB card) laugh.gif
*
Mine was motortakaful.

Even if I get watami card, my annual one-time charge for motortakaful/life insurance won't meet the 3k/quarter requirements. My monthly spending adequately covered by mbb2card amex, so it's still OK for me nonetheless smile.gif

Life insurance. Onetime annual charge. Around october-november (couldn't remember) to renew. I will still miss the quarterly min spend anyway.

why u will missed?

Need min 3k/quarter to qualify cashback. My monthly spending is <1k/month and adequately-covered with amex, so no point to spend even more. Spend less is better than chasing cashback.

do u mean if u use the watami card at places that don't accept amex along with your insurance charged to it, you still not able to hit 3k in 3 months ?
*
lol yeah, cannot hit 3k in 3 months. cuz my usual spending can be easily done with amex during weekends.

i can only foresee 2-3 times big spending month in a year, all not within same quarter. so, it doesnt make practical sense to keep another card sweat.gif

back in Feb, i did asked for suggestions based on my average monthly spending. here's the post link

no worries, guys. just sharing smile.gif thanks!

i think if we swipe for tng reload at petrol station also can entitled for the 5% rebate... right?  hmm.gif
*
though aeon didnt mention any dependency to MCC code or pump criteria, the t&c does state that "the Fuel spent were not accumulated due to fraudulent activities determined by AEON Credit Service."

no automatic detection (e.g. MCC code) but if the "pump" description is non-petrol related, aeon could've flagged it.

well, anyone did any testing (buy non-petrol stuffs at petrol station) and gotten the 5% rebate? biggrin.gif

just back from talking with Prudential agent (a friend), he recommended a quite decent coverage with premium of RM1k/month.

finallly now i have a reason to use Aeon Watami card: new insurance policy.

seeking some suggestion: would it be best to pay the premium on quarterly or monthly basis...using Watami card?

Monthly premium payment:

My plan is to get the card first (~2 weeks), then get the insurance (another 2 weeks). hope the 1st premium charge is within 1st month of watami card too, so that i can sync the RM3k/quarter spending.

Advantage: RM1k/mth charge, extra fund and breathing room for ad-hoc use.
Disadvantage: I need to pay extra RM1x3 months for bill payment from M2U -> Aeon.

Quarterly premium payment:

Basically no need to worry if the particular quarter has hit RM3k, cuz once the premium kicked in, it'll automatically entitle me the 3% cashback.

Advantage: I only need to pay RM1 for bill payment. (assuming i dont have other spending on other months).
Disadvantage: One lump sum of RM3k/quarter.

any suggestions? smile.gif much thanks!

did your prudential agent friend calculated the price difference of the premium based on annually/quarterly/monthly? some insurance company charges 7% higher than the annual amount if you choose to pay quarterly or monthly.
*
ah didnt know there's a difference, if any.

When i mentioned the possibility of paying quarterly (Aeon Watami! icon_idea.gif), he mentioned to pay RM3k, so i think it's same between monthly or quarterly.

I'll ask again. Also wanted to know from him what is the auto-debit schedule for monthly/quarterly payment. If it's based on specific date, then at least i can plan out the card's registration.

if that's the case, it simply means that if you pay annually then the premium will be cheaper than rm1k/month.  nod.gif

yes, the main issue is the price difference between annually premium vs quarterly/monthly. i'm afraid that it won't be any worth for you if you don't choose to pay annually (meaning that when the quarterly/monthly is more than 3% of annually).  icon_rolleyes.gif

others are just minor issues which i believe you can handle well.  wink.gif

From what i know, if it is an investment link insurance product, the premium is still same.
The premium basically would be higher a little than your require pay amount, and the remaining would be convert to 'cash value' in seperate account. So, when you opt for different payment frequency other than annually, insurance company basically would charge some % when convert to cash value.

It seems no different for us, but our cash value will grow slower for not pay annually
For GE, it was 5% for monthly, 3% for quarterly, 2% for half-yearly and 0% for annually.

correctly if i am wrong. biggrin.gif

i not sure exactly but i believe there is.
why? because everywhere in aeon or aeon big where you can sign up for aeon cc, there surely have one epf kiosk beside their booth. i believe that's a must for them since they don't take your salary slips. anyway, the main concern is whether the epf kiosk is working or not when you are there. lol...
*
yalor, maybe print at other aeon branch, but submit to HQ. sweat.gif
