QUOTE(vinesh22 @ Jan 20 2013, 03:33 AM) Ah, so I'm back in my hometown for a week (JB), and I'm planning to get my 920 sometime next week. If you have actually gone through the posts here and pretty much know WP8 is for you, go for it. Just make sure whatever you need in a 'smartphone' is available.Been reading through the whole thread, and I'm pretty impressed by what I've seen so far. Good that everyone's friendly when it comes to sharing advice. Anyway, will update once I get mine. Oh yeah, I will most probably be getting it from Digi since I'm currently using Hotlink prepaid, and I reckon a postpaid account would be better in the long term when it comes to smartphones and the fact that I wanna be connected on the go most of the times, no? Transitioning from a SE W995 actually, so this will be my first smartphone since I've never really needed all the connectivity till recently. I'm pretty familiar with both ios and android, so I hope WP8 shouldn't take that long to get used to.. I have intention to try out WP8 and eyed the 920 for some time but after really studying how the OS is and what is available, its pros and cons, I am having second thoughts. Don't get me wrong, it is a good phone but the main question is, does it suit your needs? And only you can answer that question. |

QUOTE(fantasy1989 @ Jan 20 2013, 12:45 AM) if u use hub ..it will split off the power of that usb port (unless your hub got external power supply) Nope, i only use hub for accessories like keyboard, mouse, pendrive... My 3.5' harddisk and gadget charging I plug directly into USB port. Im well aware of the power splitting issue.example ..your usb 3 port = 5V and 500mA ...then if u use hub and split it to 4 and plug in 4 device each devices only can get less than 100mA which is very very slow charging (worst come to worst) it might over stressing your usb port that why now certain motherboard come with supercharging usb port ..which can boost the amp up to 2.5A or 2A |

QUOTE(xxzufrixx @ Jan 20 2013, 11:25 AM) I bought the lens at phoneographymalaysia.com but i used it on my galaxy note.. It should be fit on lumia 920 Because iPong users are the easiest to milk their money, many crapgadgets, aside from useful ones are also made for iPong and iPad. I want something unique like the ones in this site. http://www.phonecase.com.my/ |

Thanks for the reply, and yup, I pretty much get where you're coming from mate. I've been fiddling around with my friend's 920 for about half a day, and I can say, I am pretty much impressed by what it offers. As for the stability of the OS and the pros and cons, I'm just hoping the updates will take care of that, because according to my friend, he's been using his device since the first launch, and has never experienced any problems apart from having a brief period where it took him about 10-20 mins to upload a photo to FB when he was on full 3G signal or wifi. Its already alright now though. Crossing my fingers and hope I don't get a lemon, that's all. I also like the way it looks and feels in my palm, which is just nice considering I have quite a wide palm I have intention to try out WP8 and eyed the 920 for some time but after really studying how the OS is and what is available, its pros and cons, I am having second thoughts. Don't get me wrong, it is a good phone but the main question is, does it suit your needs? And only you can answer that question. I'm a very simple user who doesn't need tonnes of apps on the go as my working environment would keep me disconnected from the world at most times anyway. The fact that the 920 has the basic necessities such as whatsapp, nokia maps/drive and a good low light camera just ticks all my boxes. The UI is of course something refreshing, and I'm sure the after sales support is pretty good, no? But if I had to be really honest, I'll say its the camera that got me hooked.. I do have an Ipad 3 if I wanna play games and what not, or wanna download different apps that are still not available to W8. Plus, if I ever need an android device, I can always get a secondhand HTC OneX+ or Butterfly or something sometime in the future |

Haha, alright, cool. I was thinking of just getting the phone and signing to Maxis for a postpaid plan, but from what I've been reading on forums, once you hit your data limit, you will be charged extra for data usage instead of being throttled like Digi right? That scares me, because I do travel very frequently, and I'm worried that in case I forget and use the data while roaming, I'm gonna end up with a huge bill from Maxis. What I'm planning to do is to change my current hotlink number to Digi postpaid, and just get another hotlink simcard as I know Maxis coverage is better, and so is its roaming. Anyone else got any other suggestions? |

Given your situation you have a few choices :What I'm planning to do is to change my current hotlink number to Digi postpaid, and just get another hotlink simcard as I know Maxis coverage is better, and so is its roaming. Anyone else got any other suggestions? 1. Sign up a Postpaid plan with DiGi which entitles you to get the 920 at packaged price. However, they only have Black and White colours. 2. Get the phone form independent source. Sign up a Maxis promotional data plan, if you feel Maxis' coverage is better. Now, they practise fair usage for subscriptions of 1gb and above. 3. Do what you mentioned per your last statement. |

Or you can do like me, get Maxis iValue plan and sell off the iphone What I'm planning to do is to change my current hotlink number to Digi postpaid, and just get another hotlink simcard as I know Maxis coverage is better, and so is its roaming.
