Is it? I saw that today, looks expensive and good tongue.gif but RM89 for a small one sad.gif

Btw, is it really silent? The 5W filter I just bought today is noisy like no tomorrow omg, somemore aquarium put in my room, cant's sleep for sure sad.gif (But I removed it already because of the noise, currently using a low powered 3W filter which I don't think is enough for a 3 gallon tank with 5 goldfish which poop a lot)

Currently this is my setup. Just added in 2 plants, dunno why my fish always float up near the plants, is this a good or bad sign?  rclxub.gif

looks like the water is poisonous.. laugh.gif
better do a partial waer change daily till the good bacta colony is established.
IMHO, adding another xtra filter, a cannister filter will help it greatly(glad ure looking for another one) and ifgot extra cash to spare,
investing in ADA Bacta Ball or Seachem Stability will aid as a catalyst to speed ure good bacta colony growth. Also, upgrading to a bigger tank with better filtration is much more advisable and will cost you less in the long run. thumbup.gif

can or not, good or not using rain water (fresh from the sky) to refill the tank?
well technically you can, if you intent to save up ure money on buying those cheapy RM1.50 decholorinator and putting extra work on collecting those rainwater...
but you cant be so sure the rainwater in youre place is hygenically clean ans safe for fish use. Unless you have extra water test kit, and you wiling to waste them on rainwater..
better buy those cheap anti-chlorine, or save up some money and buy those very good but concentrated and a bit tad expensive decholorinator.
Or, you can use tap water that had been left over for a day/or put in air pump in them to make an anti-chlorine free freshwater. but seriously, if just buy the cheap ones if ure in a pinch, saves you a lot of troubles.

Thanks. I also got some bio rings and a bottle of live bacteria?

So, the person from the shop told me to add the bio rings at my hang on filter (just behind the filter). But how about the live bacteria? Should I pour it to my tank or to my bio ring there?

Hope to get a quick answer notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Your tank is quite small for keeping gold fish, some more 5 of them, Goldfish are living dustbin, will eat anything eatable in your tank including plants.
i'm currently using 5 Eheim hob and 3 canister , all super silent, but i do find some cheaper HOB quite ok, HDOM, Jeneca brand HOB noise lvl is quite low as well.
http://www.eheim.asia/prod_eheim_filter_hangon.html
Eheim not only silent but built to last.
Your tank is not cycled yet, Water change your tank since is quite dirty as show in your picture, then dose those liquid bacteria into the tank
everyday to speed up the tank cycling.

what sifu Arrow said is true.
A single Goldfish will need a bigger space to live in and very good filtration system for it to be healthy,
and i had a baby goldfish the size of a 1cm(got it as a feeder fishes), it had grown into a 4.5" monster and produce lots of waste.
Too bad it died due to stress/heavy bioload after adding another big fish in the tank. sad.gif
Yup and dose the good live bacta inside ure tank, and as well inside ure filter near the bio-rings daily.
IF you have an extra air pump, adding them and turn them on will agitate the water surface and will make O2 easily available in the water itself,
thus reducing the fishes stress and the gulping issues.
just my 2cents, learned this all from the expert here icon_rolleyes.gif goodluck n godspeed!!

kytz, i think u can try the units before buying right? why not ask them to install on their aquarium and run it before buying? i'd think most china made filters are quite ok already. i bought 1 recently from xianleng (can't remember the name but the box is brown and yellow colour) and it was quite HOB.

goldfishes on the surface maybe due to low oxygen in the tank.

or bcoz they see u and they think u wanna give them food....

i bought 2-3 HOB from Xian Leng SA, all sunsun brand..quite ok actually..not noisy..still i can sleep at night...aquarium is beside my bed...

jiejian, won't the paper towels after drying become brittle or disintegrate inside the tubing? or is it that the cleaner is made from vinyl cloth?

don't see the benefit of rainwater. for worse, the rainwater might contain pollutants. at least with tap water, its safe for consumption.

having said above, u can always try and monitor the changes.

So happy to see so many beautiful works by aspiring aquascapers...

Anyways ya, rainwater nowadays isn't like those days. Nowadays lotsa factories and cars so our rainwater is polluted.

Tap water + a dose of good anti-chlorine will ensure our plants and fishes will be in tip top condition.

Happy scaping...

About fertz its very hard for me to explain coz I am not a pro.

Our sellers here should be able to help you.

I just read the label and think.
If it says it will make your plant greener - Yea I want that so i bought it.
If it says it will make your plant red-er - Yea I want that too so i bought it too.
Than it says it will make your substrate good, ensure your bacteria colony is healthy for generations, ensure absorbancy of nutrients. - Yea of coz I want those too.

So in the end I bought the whole set smile.gif
But I can see my plants growing well and healthy except for my carpet coz its so hard to root them.

I got them both.

Dry and Wet.

Wet normally daily dosage.
Dry is before planting and monthly or so.
