QUOTE(sisaiko @ Feb 16 2013, 01:49 AM) QUOTE(kimimaro_kun @ Feb 16 2013, 10:47 AM) the gold fish not very ngam with planted tank. all will be eaten... Ya, I suspect the cheapo free filter that comes together with the aquarium is the main culprit. It looks so terrible, and there's still a lot of poop on the ground. as sifu sisaiko said, gold fish poops a lots. if you dont want to WC often, maybe you can change to a bigger capacity filter. Btw, my tank is about 3 gallons or 12litres, but I filled it up to about 80% water level. I have 6 pearl scale goldfish. Is this too many fish? Do you guys suggest I get a better filter since the water is still cloudy after I changed water 6 hours after I just bought it (because it become cloudy) ? |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Feb 16 2013, 06:31 PM) Ahh I think u dont have to worry bout the cloudy water. That is normal for new tank, the cloudy happen due to bacteria bloom. This is because of nitrogen cycle. But indeed gold fish is a pooper, so get a good filter with bio media. Just my dua puloh sen This post has been edited by calmshot: Feb 16 2013, 06:55 PM |

sisaiko: thanks for your inputs. will keep monitoring situation.
kytz : over size your filters maybe to 10-15x the water circulation per hour. ie 12 liters tank, get 120lph or 200lph filter. it will help for time being. long term, get a bigger aquarium. btw, the poop on the bottom tank, nothing u can do except to remove it manually. if u leave it there long enough, it will make the water more cloudy. jiejian : good MTS.. haha.. do they leave the tank? if hang around water line is ok la... if they venture out of tank then quite messy... |
