45cm pro led z series
1 liter co2 with manual regulator
sunsun HOB
i just want to ask, any beginner plants to start with? i like iwagumi style with HC but i heard its kinda hard to start with. Can i start with staurogyne or glosso? sorry for a newbie question, whats the difference canister and HOB?
you have a really nice lighting system there..
with that you can try HC also. or else maybe can try glosso and hairgrass.

Types of filter for planted aquarium
Canister Filter – generally being regarded as the best type of filter for planted aquarium. Depending on how you install the water outlet, you can reduce the water surface agitation and limit CO2 loss.
Hang-on-back (HOB) filter – A good alternative for smaller tank (up to 30L). However, it has the limitation to house sufficient filter media due to the size. However, the water returns back to the tank will cause surface agitation thus encourage CO2 loss
Sump filter – A very powerful filter for filtration purpose due to the huge size in general, it is especially useful for huge tank. A Sump filter is normally being design to provide large O2 exchange by water splashing but this will cause CO2 lost. In planted tank, sump tank need to be redesigned so that surface agitation and water splashing is minimum.
Other types of filter (top filter, submersible filter/power head filter, undergravel filter) are not recommended for planted tank due to various reasons.

thanks for the reply..yeah gonna get two jebo cooling fan or considering the DIY fan (if i rajin lah lol

)..not planning to get a chiller...that one cost a bomb...any specific degrees for certain plants? 29-30 is my room temp. is it good?
I'm using JEBO right now.. not very helpful. Plus, over some time, the noise is unbearable.

This post lure me to reply in here, especially the fan part. Normally I just browse thru

Just want to ask a question. Is the aquarium with a closed enclosure/cover on top not suitable for planted tank? I already got one system at my home and planning to convert it to planted tank, and yes Im still a newbie in this matter
My current tank somehow similar to this

Then, it lead me to next matter; the fan. Do you think that I should remove the top cover? It will be no purpose if I install any fan in that closed cover
Current list of starting items
Taiyo CF1000
ADA new amazonia
pair of CFL (philips 13w daylight) on diy fixture (inside aquarium cover)
Aquarium dimension approx 1 feet wide X 2 feet long X 2 feet high
Not started yet, as I dont bought any plant yet

you need to remove the cover unless you have chiller..
and i think your light is not strong enough to penetrate 2ft height
