QUOTE(weijie @ Jan 10 2013, 09:41 AM) i have been keeping star moss for about 2months. they grow super slow. but condition is improving day by day. did some digging in the net for u guys hehee..i put them in my 2ft tank, below is the spec: Eheim 2215, CO2 tank with UP atomizer, DIY LED set, water temperature i didnt measure since i using LED (mostly around 28-29C) 1st have to difference the moss between tortula ruralis vs plagiomnium trichomanes if its tortula ruralis seems like no one manage to grow them submerged yet. but if its plagiomnium trichamanes seems like it is possible. food for thought : http://www.shrimpnow.com/forums/showthread...nes-Tricho-Moss |

QUOTE(arrow @ Jan 12 2013, 07:21 PM) for those having BBA algae problems, you may try keep some Got extra to sell?? hehehe...Apple snails or be sold as mystery snails , i bought 9 for fun, and they totally unexpectedly eat all the BBA on my filter outlet , air hose and wood, but be warn , they have huge appetite for food although they won't touch your live plants and shrimps, they will compete with your fish and shrimps for every food throw in. Good things they unlike ramshorn snails won't breed readily and actually need a pair in order to breed. |

QUOTE(LuQEE @ Jan 13 2013, 07:13 PM) you know, since you got vast resource of stones nearby you, hakai stone looks super nice with hairgrass i think you should make a scape using those rounded stones, and you can create a hakkai-type stones scape version but you need to make sure you got the same kind, colours & textures for every rounded stones youve collected... |

QUOTE(kurikuraX @ Jan 14 2013, 04:19 PM) yeah, got attached to this hobby recently and planning to set my 1st tank after browse around this thread poisons. buy amazonia, you wont regret. rather than spend ur $$ on other substrate and end up buy amazonia in the end.By the way, what is the best, er I mean the best for budget and novice planter like me? amazonia is way too overated lol. Any other brand that you guys used and give a good result? i read around and found out that borneowild also good, but they are about the same price-range isnt? amazonia packs good nutrient and wont turn to mush so fast.. |

Just to share~my humble under gravel filter shrimp tank.
like ive mentioned, theres been a shrimp population explosion in my low light one foot tank recently... so unwilling as i might be ive take down my terrarium for vampire crab to bulid another shrimp only tank. i must constantly remind myself that i'm not scaping it!! its only a shrimp tank! here goes the pic: taking down my terrarium T^T ur sacrifice will always be remembered... layering in the lavarock(since ive failed to get akadema) for ugf purpose. amazonia muddy water-cleared in 1day trying out something new-bamboo carbon thx sisaiko! really digging the LED!!! current look. water can be clearer! but not gonna scape it. worth every penny... slim and sexy~ |

QUOTE(qz4eva @ Jan 18 2013, 07:42 PM) look for samsonncch in the petstore, he sells emersed or submersed HC, bought a batch from him b4, i think bariho also bought from him. btw it is common that ppl/lfs sells emersed form of hc, infact they sell many types of plant in emersed form, the plant will melt and grow again in your tank, shouldnt be a issue if ur tank parameter stable... that said submersed is more healthy la, no nid go thru the heart pain of melting...
