actually All rooter can dial,

u dont have to convert the modem into regular modem at all,.

just follow steps below:

-reboot your router
-plugin your E3276 modem
- login LuCI web interface
- go to modem Tab
- go to Custom
- paste the AT command ( provide by blacktubi : AT^SETPORT="A1,A2;10,12,16,13,A1,A2")
- click submit
- wait for the submit done

* Key : you must paste the AT command FAST whenever you ON/REBOOT the router , otherwise the rooter wont able to recognize which port is which port,.

or you also can try TpLINK MR-3420 V2 latest beta firmware which support E3276 notworthy.gif
-> Latest Beta Stock firmware 130314-FI

Enjoy icon_rolleyes.gif

Main problem is E3276 dont have a standardize port mapping Rooter dont select the correct port. So, in order to get it fixed, set the communication port and data port manually.

BTW issuing the command during boot doesn't help at all, new port mapping will only take effect when modem reboot. Might take several reboot sometime.

u can try these few solution :

1) try to update your firmware to latest

2) try to add E398 bin file into modem setting

if still cannot works, then is bug, original stock firmware have this signal bug,

so just flash to Rooter openwrt firmware -> http://www.ofmodemsandmen.com/downloads.html

I have emailed the E398 bug to TPlink almost 2 months ago. I have sent them the log, and all the details they need, and no news after that until now.

Don't give so much of hope to TPlink support team since the first report of E398 bug have been reported at March, until today, still no solution for that.

Why not use the latest driver from the chipset manufacturer rather TP-LINK customized, it should work wink.gif

Mine one is V3, Qualcomm Atheros, Windows 7 driver are newer i think, got more option to tweak, i duno where to get the latest for windows 8.
Since they alreadt released V4, Realtek chipset, they probably already abandoned the older revision. just like how they abandoned the TLMR3420 v1 sweat.gif

Search the adapter, know what is the chipset, search on the internet for the latest driver from Atheros base on the chipset

My friend also complaint about his MR3040 until he mad.
He said shame on you to the CS, and the CS replied please respect me, and blah blah blah lol.

Then my friend said, I said shame on TP link, not you.
The CS said, ok.

Lol.
