I have an issue that my 3420v2 with Huntsman 2013-09-15, it will not detect my E398-u15 automatically. I need it connect by manually.

I have another E398-u1, it can connect automatically for the early morning, but if I restart the router, I need do it manually again.
The next morning will back normal again.

Manually mean I need go to the click the decrease/increase button in the communication port, and wait for 2mins to detect.
I feel it is annoying :s

you can try stock firmware for your E398,..  notworthy.gif

Stock has it own bugs too, like port forwarding doesn't work with E398, router hang after more than 6+ devices...
Both have own trouble but still using stock now because the bug not that annoying for me.

I guess port forwarding don't work just because of the assigned dynamic private IP address. I guess most mobile internet is NATed unless you request it.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Port forwarding is not working with 4G modem is 100% confirmed.

I try with other 3G modem and no problem at all.

Some more, it is also in TP Link forum.

OK like this

E398 connect to USB PC port, dial in---connected-----surfing/downloading no problem but play game online got NAT port blocked

E398 connect on MR3420 USB port, dial thru router itself---connected====surfing/downloading no problem but STILL cannot play online game....despite set correctly port forwarding/MAC Address?DMZ and Setup Static IP as well.
(((( MR 3420 LAN port (got 4 LAN port) connect to PC Ethernet ))))

NOW,
LAN cable at MR 3420 change to WAN port of MR 3420 itself
THEN,
Connect E398 to PC USB modem----dial----connected

PRESTO!!!!
Can play online game  rclxub.gif

You can solve your problem easily with R00ter firmware.
But I hope you don't have the annoying bug like me, cannot detect modem automatically.

i believe i can solve the bug most probably using R00ter firmware
BUT as for now the stock firmware is perfect except for "port forwarding" part.

As you pointed out...next bug might be undetectable auto modem if i were to try R00ter,

Not a big problem if you don't restart a lot your modem.

Do you guys set QoS successfully in rOOter firmware?
I try to set QoS but it never success.
I mean the individual IP, not all the Wifi.

Even stock firmware still not able to set it successfully.

mr3420 only can QoS 3G not 4G,..

so if you using 4G then it wont work in stock firmware

for rooter wise, the smart QoS never ever work for me before

I am using a 4G modem, but in DC-H+.
Does that consider 4G?

Already tried that beta version. Still no luck though

Emailed tp link... they already forwarded to related department

Don't know how long for next reply from them

I have emailed the E398 bug to TPlink almost 2 months ago. I have sent them the log, and all the details they need, and no news after that until now.

Don't give so much of hope to TPlink support team since the first report of E398 bug have been reported at March, until today, still no solution for that.

They don't even make any effort in solving E3276 issue doh.gif

Not sure if Huawei hate them or they hate Huawei

My friend also complaint about his MR3040 until he mad.
He said shame on you to the CS, and the CS replied please respect me, and blah blah blah lol.

Then my friend said, I said shame on TP link, not you.
The CS said, ok.

Lol.

Finally have some free time.
I downgrade my E398, from 11.433.57.00.260.B757 to 11.335.31.00.000.B757

11.433.57.00.260.B757
Red - Lag with 3000ms, speed is 1mbps.
Yellow - Undetectable

11.335.31.00.000.B757
Red - Problem fixed. No connection or lag after few mins.
Yellow - Undetectable.
