ts, I would be very happy if you can enlighten me which current phone model (from any manufacturer) has an official kernel that supports multi-boot if that is what you mean.

update: I see you have responded that it is dual boot. I would still appreciate your response to my question.

dont put your hope high, even if mult-rom is supported, it's would most likely be disabled, or used to dual boot other OS, like Ubuntu for phone maybe, instead of letting u to have 2 custom ROMs, or, if you use the second ROM partition, your warranty will be voided.. manufacturers always find ways to screw hackers up, lol

yea, agree on that.. lol
AMOLED's problem is consuming a lot more power then typical TFT when displaying all white, and also bad performance under sunlight, but the latter has been improve a lot, and hence i would say AMOLED is not bad now..

btw, i think junsheng said something about AMOLED will in the end consume more power, but android system is dark themed since gingerbread, because it is optimized for AMOLED, and typically AMOLED displaying dark themed color, even grey, is a lot lower then AMOLED, so if you're talking about AMOLED on android, it does save more power compared to a typical backlit screen

not every android, if you see HTC n motorola n sony
if you do in2 specific app u will c, the difference,
like play store, gmail, google drive, website all are in white or gray colour sad.gif

I never said deeper black is not good, but if over it is not good.

Black crushing in AMOLED is common issue since day it born. AMOLED is not as perfect as you think.
*
you said too black no good. you should say, contrast / color issues / calibration for stock phone causes some wash out. saying that too black is no good is just misleading.

QUOTE(junsheng @ Jan 18 2013, 02:53 PM)
kernel control the voltage n processing power on different case,
whn to provide more power whn not to
so in newer version, the power controlling improves,
does not need a supported 64bit arm hardware to do so

*
what does this even mean in contrast to my question? kernel is kernel. why jumble it up with 64bit?

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Jan 18 2013, 02:54 PM)
@alexng2208. what junsheng showing here is the black crush I mean, now you get it? AMOLED is not perfect for viewing video and also dark scenes picture.
*
i never said it was perfect nor implied it was. AMOLED is known for its amazing deep blacks because there is no lighting up of its pixels (IIRC). what is black crush? if its meant to be black, it shows black. it has contrast problems gamma problems etc etc...

Black crush was not word term use by me, it has been discuss since long ago, people using that wording to describe AMOLED black display issue.

i'm not talking abt official kernel
if u c most of the kernel development r based on official kernel

that mean 3rd party kernel can enable the support of multi-rom thumbup.gif
like motley http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...5&postcount=395

those dev cannot develop a new kernel version to work with the device
bcauz they don't know the hardware specific stuff sad.gif

amazing

i now represent all AMOLED phones and bow to the great screen of Xperia Z. as quoted from techcrunch.

(xperia z's) screen a more realistic colour-cast than some of the hyper-saturated AMOLED smartphone screens out there, and the latter designed to improve viewing of non-HD footage

Get Note I is enough for you then.

Higher agree!
Note II is much fragile than Note I.

If you are ganas, no Samsung phone is worth for you as Samsung phone was fragile especially recent release S III and Note II.

Get Nokia Lumia 920 instead, it was tough enough for ganas people.

I believe 3310 is the toughest phone... tongue.gif

This is a thread where ppl cannot accept the flaws of Xperia series and takes the good stuff of other models and turn it into flaws so Xperia Z will look flawless . Accept it guys aka fanboys , there's no perfect flawless phones out there . When u gain some , u lose some .
