i was strugglng to bring my points across and gave up as the ppl in here are just fanboi to the max....

one very good example that you brought up.... viewing angle, its definitely poor and they said that it is good because its privacy. OOOOMMMMGGGGGosh....

fanboys are everywhere smile.gif

anyway, I recall the viewing angle has to do with PVA, which, although has deeper black and better contrast, and they claim the viewing angle is big, but color does shift when you're not looking frmo 90 degree straight, but the things on screen are still remain visible, unlike IPS and AMOLED, which maintain the color, or have way less color shift, normally unnoticeable. It's sad that Xperia Z would use that, I was hoping for a AMOLED or something..

That the problem. The deep black make most photo look kill. Watching video on AMOLED never pleasant as it too deep black was crushing the details on dark area.

this is amusing

blacker blacks and whiter whites are what everyone strives to.

and you are saying deeper blacks is no good?

hmm.gif

is like saying my phone battery lasts too long, causing me to use my charger less.. hmm.gif

yes, I prefer IPS screen for phone, although AMOLED is not too bad as well, ,maybe just hope for a later variant of IPS screen biggrin.gif
the floating icon things i understand, been experiencing that with some Nokia phones already. I tot Nexus 7 also IPS right? shouldn't be very washed out. My TF101 is using the same screen tech and i felt that it's great too. Back to the point, it's a phone, not a tablet nor a laptop, people are not going to use it facing directly straight even half the time, i guess, and I'm very picky on color shift, it's so bad it could blind me lol, so viewing angle IMO is very important.

btw shouldn't compared to One X la, many review site claimed it's the best looking display they've seen on phone so far man.
*
nexus 7's screen look washout bcauz they used a traditional IPS
TF101 would look better S-IPS there r quite number of differences

define fake screen?

I dislike AMOLED for the over-saturated color, but some phones allow u to choose the color profile to be more natural. Yes, I prefer IPS more then anything else in the market now, but AMOLED is not too bad itself either, at least compared to other TFT's
*
nope changing colour profile will not affect much the factory adjusted stuff sad.gif

well, maybe cos phone screens typically have lower contrast so darked normally means dark details gone.. not sure how the S-PVA is going to fare in this category.

my bad, so it's not color shift, but gamma shift. But that doesnt change the fact that S-PVA will have some viewing problem when phone is not used straight. And from a few demo video, i think the gamma shift is quite obvious, to my eyes, hence i was saying, better off using IPS or AMOLED

plus, I'm agreeing on his statement on fanboys are everywhere, not necessarily saying about you

that's not what the person i was quoting was saying.

he / she said that AMOLED sucks because its black is too black

how stupid can someone get? its a desirable trait that people are striving to right? check out anandtech and they said blacker screens are better, no?

this is absurd

yea, agree on that.. lol
AMOLED's problem is consuming a lot more power then typical TFT when displaying all white, and also bad performance under sunlight, but the latter has been improve a lot, and hence i would say AMOLED is not bad now..

btw, i think junsheng said something about AMOLED will in the end consume more power, but android system is dark themed since gingerbread, because it is optimized for AMOLED, and typically AMOLED displaying dark themed color, even grey, is a lot lower then AMOLED, so if you're talking about AMOLED on android, it does save more power compared to a typical backlit screen

Note II is much fragile than Note I.

If you are ganas, no Samsung phone is worth for you as Samsung phone was fragile especially recent release S III and Note II.

Get Nokia Lumia 920 instead, it was tough enough for ganas people.

hi ts, just want to clear something which i don't understand

do you mean that Xperia Z supports the power management features available in the yet-to-be-existing 64bit implementation of ARM cores?

what is multirom? meaning running let's say AOKP / CM rom and Xperia ROM in a dualboot manner?

and your last sentence, what does it actually mean as the sentence structure is really incomprehensible. who is selling what and when and doing what?

we r in the wrong thread bro ....... This is a thread where ppl cannot accept the flaws of Xperia series and takes the good stuff of other models and turn it into flaws so Xperia Z will look flawless . Accept it guys aka fanboys , there's no perfect flawless phones out there . When u gain some , u lose some .

I never said deeper black is not good, but if over it is not good.

Black crushing in AMOLED is common issue since day it born. AMOLED is not as perfect as you think.

kernel control the voltage n processing power on different case,
whn to provide more power whn not to
so in newer version, the power controlling improves,
does not need a supported 64bit arm hardware to do so

yup dual boot manner

last sentance is typo, see little to no problem laugh.gif
hate auto correct whn i do gesture, cannot type broken eng properly laugh.gif
