Hi M@ximus,

For the first question, try update the firmware first and see it happen again or not.

and as for the Channel Bandwidth, try put 20/40MHz see it helps or not.

Thank you

Hi ASUSmy,

1. Upgrade solve the reboot problem.
2. Setting the Channel Bandwidth to 20/40MHz makes devices surf faster than 40MHz. After upgrade firmware, devices log on faster as well.

However I have to comment that the upgrade firmware of this router is a bit poor. Below are my observation:
1. 2.4GHz radio automatically off after firmware upload, firmware upgrade, and even config restore.
2. Partial configuration missing or replaced.
3. SSID name change to "ASUS" after upgrade! Password remain the same.
4. Manual assigned IP around the DHCP list wipe clean! I need to key in back.
5. Configuration restore failed. Keep hanging on the page with message "Settings have been updated. Web page will now refresh. Changes have been made to the IP address or port number. You will now be disconnected from RT-N56U."

Try reconnecting by renewing IP failed and directed to the page with message above. Need to COLD REBOOT the router. End up key in myself the configuration that are missing or replaced after upgrade.

Hi M@ximus,

Can I ask do you notice the router user interface changed after the new firmware upgrade? If yes, then it is normal. As mention on my first reply on your issue,

"If you notice there is interface after you update the firmware, please do a factory reset on the RT-N56U."

Because of the change of the interface, you need to redo all the setting.

Thank you and sorry for any inconvenient caused.

Hi johann92,

Due to ASUS Motherboard is Local Warranty only, you will need to send back US if you want to claim warranty for your board.

Thank you

Hi Asusmy, I want to ask about asus modem and router.
Currently, I am using Riger DB 109-WL Wireless ADSL Modem provided by Streamyx long long ago with 4mbps.
There are alot of problems with it:
1) No WPS button
2) Only 1 LAN port
3) Not user friendly

So, I wonder which ASUS device is suitable for me?
I want it be more than 1 LAN port, wireless support and etc.

Hi zamans98,

If you want to compare this 2, then RT-AC66U will be better.

Thank you

Guys, will head up to Lowyat Plaza today to buy a replacement router for my UniFi.

FYI, I am using L7-N-R2000, and it sucks.

All I need is easy to use(Plug > Few settings > Play), and QoS to limit P2P download. I can't even load a Youtube video right now. mad.gif

Budget, the cheaper the better.

Hi seng83,

If your router already flashed with the latest firmware 3.0.0.4.374.239, try do a factory reset on the RT-N56U.

And redo the setting see it helps or not.

Thank you
