Hi Asusmy, I want to ask about asus modem and router.
Currently, I am using Riger DB 109-WL Wireless ADSL Modem provided by Streamyx long long ago with 4mbps.
There are alot of problems with it:
1) No WPS button
2) Only 1 LAN port
3) Not user friendly

So, I wonder which ASUS device is suitable for me?
I want it be more than 1 LAN port, wireless support and etc.

Hi anything98,

If you are using streamyx, and you are planning to buy ASDL Router, you can have a look on this few models.

DSL-N55U (Broadcom) - RM499
DSL-N12U (Ralink) - RM189
DSL-N12E (Realtek)- RM149
DSL-N10 (Ralink) - RM139
DSL-N10E (Realtek) - RM119

Thank you

Hi there,

Currently, I have subscribed to streamyx 4mbps (which is very slow, as no choice since Unifi is not covered in my area yet and not sure when will they do so), and that I need a new Asus modem as the TM Riger DB-108 WL is quite old and has only 1 Ethernet port - insufficient for my family needs.

So may I ask which Asus modem is suitable and economy for my current need?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Asus,

Part 1

I recently bought Asus DSL-N12U_c1 (the latest revision confirmed), and I would like to ask how to check wireless clients via 192.168.1.1 (those who connected to my internet).

Or the modem does not allow this function?

[Solved] Sorry for my stupidity, I just found out that there is a button on the Network Map which allows me to monitor who is actually connected to the modem. rclxm9.gif

Part 2

Further to that, does the modem need a hard reset after its firmware is updated? (If so, I don't really get it why it needs to be reseted hardly).*

*I have updated and configured my newly bought DSL-N12U_c1 but I did not reset it except reboot. And I have received the same or similar info as posted by G K Lai, at Post #4494, above.

But I just closed it, then tried to connect to websites and it worked so I don't really care what its about.

Please enlighten me on this.

Thanks

Hi Asusmy, thanks for the info previous about DSL-N12U.

Now I plan to upgrade my streamyx 4mbps to unifi 50mbps.

May I know which asus router could best suit for what I need?

Thanks.

If I really plan to get 30/50mbps unifi, do I need to change the modem as well?

Hi anything98,

You won't be using the DSL modem anymore, TM you provide you the modem and router.

And you only need to change the router.

Thank you

I see, thanks for info.

What about RT-AC880U? I will be gaming and streaming.
